Do you have to tap in the tempo ?

I don't have the Ren yet and still work with Maschine, but can u give an example of what you mean by the maschine software/workflow is next level compared to the ren?

One example is the duplication sample feature on Maschine. Ren has chop mode, which is kinda stiff due to the sample editing features. Maschine has made this step almost a must have--once you have gotten used to it.

Yeah that duplicate function is cool on the Maschine, although I chopped and loaded duplicate samples easy enough on the 500 so even if this feature isn't implemented I would soon forget that Maschine ever offered it (I hope).

Yeah that duplication feature is something I'm definitely used to messing with Maschine

The Ren just needs the ability to manually add/remove slices in chop mode. The inability to do this is what makes it stiff for me. Maschine does this pretty well. Any sample where the transients aren't very dynamic, chop mode in its current state is a hassle. I look forward to the changes in v1.1.

Whoever has a Ren try out the pad copy function it should work like duplicate on maschine as Dan had confirmed that he added it and I see it in the manual.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but when I do a Pad Copy the samples cannot be edited independently. In other words, what ever truncations you make to one happens to all of them. This is not how Maschine responds. Maschine sees each duplication as a new sample that can be edited by itself. Are others having this issue with Ren's Pad Copy?

I'm on my iPhone right now but it was in the Jan thread by Cryus on added duplicate function like maschine and I pushed for a dedicated button for it and the compromise was shift pad copy. Dan tested and stated that it worked. Anyone can clarify this or not?
