dilemma: first mpc, 1000 or 2000, or other?

fact is, 2000xl fascinates me with its big olskool look:(
and I'm so into it aesthetically..I know that shouldnt bother but it does lol I know that's so gay but can't help it

while with mpc1000 I have the exact problem: its colors and the case seem so much "plastic", un-professional, and proving that I heard a lot of people complaining about its overall build quality. So yeah really hard choice.

Also keeping in mind, besides the price factor, that 2kxl are rare to find here!
Yesterday some bag of shit beat me on an ebay auction and got i for 270 euros,
man, I hope he dies soffering SO much.

btw there's this guy who'd sell me a 1000 with JJOS2XL3.20. The version is blue with red stripes on the sides. Price=400 euros, which is something like 500 usd.
Is it good?

Ask him if it's had the pad upgrade done or you're looking at another 200 bucks to fix the dead pad issue.

Last time I checked sites like eBay etc, a good unit was around the 400 - 500 ball park so yes it's a good deal if the pads are the upgraded ones

....but hey, if you're so much into aesthetic the first version of the 1000 thousand is an absolute no go.....

a mpc is pretty much like a guitar....the feel and look must fit....i see it that way, too...

i repeat myself...go for a black 1000.....get rid of the plastik and check out the wooden side panels on mpc stuff.....

best of both worlds....i'd say....

and if it's all about price.....wait another few weeks 'til you can afford a few more bucks...you gonna have your mpc for years and years....

It arrived yesterday... AKAI MPC 2000-XL.
It's even more beatiful when you see it with your very eyes. I'm absolutely exicted and satisfied with it, spent last 36 hours GLUED to it, literally!!. Too bad my turntable and records are in my other home, I'm just practicing "sampling" from itunes ecc (it still manages to make em sound super) but it's really taking me away! What a wonderful machine!!
Price was 300 dollars, and it's in good overall condition with 8 outputs, 32mb ram and zipdrive (guess I'll be usin my buncha old floppies tho). Fully workin but it might be that the note slider doesnt work but I've read that it's cheap to replace and however it's not really necessary. Right now I'm on a break.. I'm resampling a drumbreak at 26.4khz and 12 bit (sp1200 anyone? ) and, as all of you were saying, it's takin a lot of time so here I am waiting
