Akai mpc2000xl-mcd

Maybe u already know about this already but theres a new mpc called the 2000xl-mcd being release imminently with a compact flashcard reader as standard instead of the normal floppy/zip. don't know if they've changed the os.

I only have one question: Will the card reader load/save the samples any faster than it normally does on a 2K? My mpc 1000 loads fast as hell compared to my mpc 2K. But if I can get my 2K to load just as fast as my 1000, I'm gonna get the MCD upgrade. Let me know what's good....Gone

This got me thinking... Can I get a IDE cardreader and built it in myself ?
Is an OS upgrade needed ?

yes it loads faster, and yes you can have one installed with out an OS upgrade, as long as it is scsi..

I want to know how much is Akai going to be selling just the drive for... probably an arm and a leg...
