Anybody Using Reason as a sound module... ????

there are some really nice rfls for reason. SHit I downloaded subtractor subs and shit was really knockin. Too bad I had to refermat and forgot to back up that refill which is only 1 meg. If you like real sounding bass then go buy BASS LEGENDS 1. I havent found any violin patch that sounds realistic but the ES got that covered! Holla at me if you wanna buy some REFILLS!!!!

binger, you are right about reason sounding thin but it you rewire it thru cubase, live4, or any other host it sound 1000x better (not as good as a hardware sampler but it is cheaper).

yeah it sounds good with plugins. I just find out all i need is with my new sampler and my mpc to sequence. With the pc i feel like i have too many options when tryin to tweak and sequnce. Ill go off on tangents with shi* instead of just makin a track. like just tweakin shi* and then wind up just losing train of thought. Reason gives u all kinds of shit to fu*k with. u really need to rewire it though thru a diff host. then u have access to using vsts and better sequncing. ableton live with reason rewired thru it slaved to the mpc is where it is at. Then u can just use the mpc to make the beat and just use reason as a sound mod and ableton as a router. So all the work is still done on the mpc, like building the track. Then u can just record the midi data to ableton and then u got a multitrack. ur not usin the mpcs sampler so all the shit is allready in the pc and can all be saved as 2 files. the .all for the mpc and the .als for ableton.

binger, how do you get your samples in your sampler?

i record the samples from vinyl into my sampler thne i scsi it to wave lab to loop and recycle to chop then dump it back in with recycle 2.0s scsi transfer. .

I forget the name of the sound card... but it is midi.. with 5.1 dolby..... gotta look for the box.....one

When I bought my pro tools it came with reason but I have never loaded it on my computer......Can someone give me some insight on how to use it....I mean I wanna be able to take sounds or loops that I make in reason and bring them into the 4000 and put some drum tracks behind it.....?! Here is my latest setup..:

1. mpc 4000
2. mbox- pro tools
3. m-audio oxygen 8
4. us 122 tascam audio/midi interface
5. e-mu mophatt rack module
6. athlon pc

Reason Adapted comes with the bundle you get for the MBox
and it opens with a default song

For this program Reason Adapted you have to use the mods that
are already there.

With the full version you have the option of creating your own mods
but on each mod you should see a little file folder to the right of the window on the module this is where you click and get the sounds for
this module from the Factory Sound Bank in your Propellerhead
Reason folder.

Modules:
RV7000
DDl 1-Digital delay
Comp 1-Compressor
Redrum drum machine has individual tracks with file folders at the top
of each track where you can load samples of your own. On the bottom
left you will see a file folder where you Load your Redrum Kits from
the factory sound bank.

NN19: there is a file folder right next to the small window on this mod you can load your factory sound bank sounds from this window.
this also has a window where you can load samples into
it is located near the middle of the mod and looks like a blue and white
file folder you can also right click in the piano sequencer window and get
your samples that way also.

To play your mods just left click in the left side of the sequencer
window where your mods are lined up on the left you will see a
silver midi emblem that means your mod is activated and ready
to use.

I have a question about using reason with the MPC:

I'm currently using my mpc to control the rex loop player in reason via midi, But I want to have the slices that get triggered when I hit the pads play all the way through (like one shots in the MPC). Does anyone know how to make this happen in reason?

adjust the release envelope. under amp envelope. U can also load ur cuts in the redrum to make it play out.
