I'm currently running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and have experiences a few crashes with Ren. Just wondering about the experiences of those running Mountain Lion--especially if you recently upgraded from 10.6.8. Have you noticed stability improvments? Does Ren and Mountain Lion play well together for you?

From what I been reading, the Ren is buggy on almost all Systems from XP - ML.
I don't think you should have to risk a update to ML (I'm sure there's a reason you choose to stay on SL) to get the Ren OS Stabalized. If you got nothing to loose I would upgrade and try it out though. You should also report every single bug in the specified thread here and to Numark directly. Hopefully the updates will be made on a monthly basis to address issues. IMO, updates MUST be taken care of frequently to make this machine successful and fully operational.

Well next month when the ren starts to ship overseas to UK, it is said that it will ship with OS 1.1. let's hope that will be the start of the frequent updates. Maybe akai knows of these bugs and 1.1 will fix them. as far as updates go, IMO, 1.x should be maintenance updates to address these bugs. 2.0 and on shuould be feature updates

I actually did update to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard in hopes to improve the performance of the Ren. No such luck. I still experience the same issues I had on Snow Leopard.

If you were updating just to improve the performance of the Ren, I wouldn't even bother, it won't even make a difference.

Hope this helps.

in the bug thread, when you post the crashes, can you also post the crash log? it would definitely help. also, what you're doing when it crashes would be good.

Thanks everybody, guess I'll stick with Snow Leopard for a minute. I wonder if Snow Leopard was the OS that the developers used on 1.0 anyway?

Did you disable the Gatekeeper "feature". If Akai didn't get the installer signed with Apple you have to definitely turn off Gatekeeper.
