Following problem: Naming tracks, sequences etc is an annoying procedure. And in most cases I have my tracks in a particular order (like track 1-4 for drums, 5-8 for samples, 9-12 for midi, 13-16 for audio tracks). So each time I start a new project I have to enter the names again. Furthermore, I have to set track types (Drum / Audio / ...) and Midi Channels again and again.
A possible solution would be to make all general changes once for one sequence and then save it as autoload. BUT: Once tracks are named, they appear in Track List and Track Mute as if something was already recorded on that track. This is very confusing as I then don't know which tracks contain events and which don't.

Here my suggestion:
- If track parameters have been set (name, track type, velocity, midi channel, ...) but nothing was recorded yet on a track, this track should NOT appear in Track List / Track Mute.
- Please implement a "Default Sequence" where the user can make all changes but nothing can be recorded on that Default Sequence (e.g. Seq99). The user can then use this Default Sequence when creating a new sequence. All parameters are set but the sequence appears in Track Mute etc as if it would be a brand new sequence.

This request is related to the already existing feature "Default" in Sequence List (F3 button) but with the possibility to set track parameters.

I know this is quite a demanding feature request. BUT: It would make my life and possibly the life of many many others SOOO much easier!

 really. wow. As a JJOS user, I just do not get where you are coming from sorry. I have no problem naming stuff and if you do it after a while you will get quicker. Also it is a good idea to work to a template in your head. So that means that even though it is not written down, you make everything the kinda the same way each time. So drums are always on tracks 1-10. kick always on track one, snare on two ect. Then say basslines are usually on track 11 or what ever. I name after I write because I am not sure if it will stay that instrument anyways, so no point naming it before hand for me.
You could hae named a whole lotta tracks in the time it took to post what ya did to. just saying. less bitchin more work pays off in the long run.

Of course you can do everything by working hard enough but the point is to make JJOS even more user-friendly. I'm not afraid to name tracks etc and I do it frequently. I was just thinking about what would make life easier. IMO thats fair enough.
And particularly in my opinion it just makes no sense at all that tracks where I did not record anything show up in track mute window just because I did set the name or whatever. What the hell should I mute there? You get the point?

But your opinion is fair enough. If nobody else wants that feature it won't be implemented anyways. Still, I don't think I'm the only one.

well not much is happening lately cos of large screen anyways. To me its not a big deal at all hey. because to me having something 64 chord shapes instead of 32, invert phase, or FX/filter routing ect are more useful to me and would prefer useful things that enable good music production as a stand alone unit. So to me naming stuff is not what an MPC is about. Every stand alone box is a pain to name anyways in my experience, its part of the deal. :-D but I know what you mean though about mute screens, but if you follow a general map of tracks it works well. If you make the autoload then all you are doing is buggin out that blank tracks are showing on mute screen, (after erase or blank) and I do not understand that. If the track is blank then muting/unmuting wont do anything. So that is not a problem. If it is identifying the tracks then name them better in autoload?? sure you could have 10 drum tracks, but with naming convention and general track map you will know where it is as a rule. I am talking from experience here. I might load a project and have no idea what tracks are what, as I have not named them, but it only takes a second to figure it out. And for live you would make everything line up track wise so there is not a change to the so called track map. easy. I get 24 tracks going, but usually at least 12-16 so probably why I do not name as much as it takes time. I save it and name it next day or next time I load it. So its rare I load something and can not find what track every sound is on quickly. You want to loop every sequence so just do that and keep them blank. name as you go when its needed. Mute groups could help you to as you can just set every blank track to a group so that means every blank track will be blacked out. Good visually to. And if you unmute the group you will notice instantly and can hit any other blank track in same mute group to re mute that group of blank tracks.
I could suggest you make everything a mute group from autoload but then you would have to unmute every track as you male stuff. So not a good option but .....
