Two MPC's Locked together

What's Up peeps?

Does any one here use Two MPC's locked together in their production setup? if so what do you use it for in that configuration? I heard of a few big producers using it like that but never knew their reasons.

I'm not exactly sure how they have them working, but I'm sure it's a simple midi in to out / midi out to in kinda setup. I I'm not sure why a producer would need 2 MPC's, but in live setups it's used to trigger the music that is needed.. while one MPC is playing, the other is loading up seq and program info and then mixes the songs together, just like a DJ is with turntables, but instead the MPC's do all the work. You'd have to ask someone that has already done this, but I've seen it a few times in the clubs before.

yah, midi in and outs rigged and then the sequences are set to send program change messages to the other mpc (remember you can store like what? 64 programs but only use 4 at a time?) this way you can use 8 at a time, and the sequencer will auto change the programs in and out 4 you. There is no real reason to do this tho xcept 4 live work.

My partner and I gig with 2 MPC's, sometimes 3. But this is not because of limitations on the number of samples or programs, rather due to the all the outboard equipment we used with them.

for studio use it also can be dope!! If you are a reall real chopper you wil run out of pads!

with 2 locked you get twice the pads!
