yea I was getting on to let everyone know. They uploaded a ton videos with people using the renaissance. I didn't know that Young Guru made beats.

I must have missed that. I don't recall them doing anything special...no where close to what they are doing now.

I was just talking to a friend yesterday about Akai not really doing much as far as videos since Namm. Now it looks like they are prepping for a major assault with the Ren shipping overseas next month and the upcoming release of the Studio.

Your memory is selective as usual. These videos are better produced but the MO is the same. Drop the machine in front of endorsers and extract nothing but praise and amazement. Numark launch it's DJ DAW/Coontroller with similar hype. That turned out great. Numark's history is repeating itself.

I only remember one official Akai MPC5000 video that Andy Mac did.
Unless Akai deleted them.

We are in the internet age. Show proof. Where are the Akai MPC 5000 videos?

MPCs have been the standard for 25 years. All those producers are MPC users. Of course they are excited and hyped about their favorite product getting an upgrade....I am. I have seen some of what goes on behind the scenes. Akai is working their azz off giving us the product we want. As I type this, they are still working on this product.

I had to bite my tongue for so long about why I was excited about the Ren. Now I can discuss 'some' of it. And....updates are coming (soon) with fixes, workflow improvements, and feature additions to include many of those asked for in this and NI Forum. Hint - there is a very good reason why there were a lot of MPC vs Maschine, Software vs Hardware MPC debates/discussions going on across forums. All that feedback for good/bad channeled directly to developers. Thanks for all the feedback.

Getting back on topic....'The Making of...' video shows Dan with Scott Storch. That MPC Ren looks black with a sleeker LCD screen. I would love to see Akai release different versions of the controller.

Site is dope, but they really need to update 2 things like now, 64 bit, and midi clock sync.

People don't use mpc's stand alone like they keep pushing in the demo's.
You have to use as a plug or be able to sync to make any type of real modern music...
