I am trying to get my MPC 2000 to boot. I have Windows XP and I think that's why I can't get the MPC to recognize the boot files. My drives on my PC are NTFS. Does that matter? CAn somebody e-mail me one that may work? I've been switching floppies and drives, no luck. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not totally clear what you are trying to boot from or why Windows XP on your PC should affect it. It sounds as if you might be trying to boot up from a file on the PC, which isn't going to work!?!?!?!

Have you not got the original bootable OS floppy that came supplied with the MPC?

If you downloaded the OS from Akai's website you should be able to put that straight onto a floppy.

I called Tech support and was told that the
mpc 2000 does not recognize computer files if the computers HD is NTFS formatted. I formatted my computer to FAT and downloaded the boot disk and it started right up. All that for 2 files. It works now though. Thanks for the reply.

You could have right clicked on the "A" drive in your computer and formatted as "FAT" and your MPC would read it. You wouldn't have had to format your WHOLE PC. You kinda lost me a little with your description of the problem though.
