stuck reel to reel button

Hello everybody, I am the owner of an Akai 4000ds Reel to reel, everything is working really good. I love to compress with the thing and also to add a lil crunch to my mixes. but the only problem is , the FFWD/ RWD button is stuck.. And i am affraid to pull it to hard cause I might break it... any has a idea for me?
