MPC 5000 PADS NOT SOUNDING WHEN PRESSED

so i have a mpc 5000 that i bought used from guitar center few months ago,,,,ive mainlyhavent been using its pads for sounds cause ive been using my mpd32 pads,,,,, The pads on the mp c 5000 works when it comes to swithing modes,, and i can assign sounds to the moc 5000 pads,,,, however when i do assign a sound to a pad,,, i cant hear that sound.... my connections are correct because when i demo a sound in the internal memory of the 5000 (by pressing play F5) i can hear it in my speakers ,,, but when i hit the pad it doesnt play,,,,, ive tried different pad banks and played with the midi sensitivity and velocity still cant hear it,,,,am i doing something wrong or is there a problem with the pad

Make sure on the main sequencing screen you have the program you assigned the sounds to the pad selected so you can hear the sounds from the pads.

is ther an error message saying buy the ren cause that would make sense lol

Make sure you have the correct pad bank selected. I know it is sounds obvious but it happens to me enough times that I thought I should mention it.

Also, does it happen with both synth and sample programs? If so, you might have a real problem that would need repair by an authorized repair person.

his pads work when selecting modes and such...his sensors are most likley fine...my guess its user error since he has been using an mpd to trigger his MPC....

I can confirm that I have experienced this bug as well. I cannot recreate it at will, but it happens every now and then. A reboot fixes it.

It may be a memory issue, do you have the RAM expansion?
