Replacing LCD HELP!

Hi everyone! I'm thinking of buying an 4k with broken LCD and then buying LCD from mpcstuff. Is it worth? Can You tell me, is it easy to replace it? How is it mounted? With tape like LCD in 2000XL? or maybe something harder to mount at home? I'm an electronic however replacing it may be too hard. Thanks for feedback!

How do you know it's broken... post pics of the screen, might be an easy fix... like the ribbon connector not having a good connection.. that was the case on mine, and it caused the screen to have loads of lines on it..
Could also just be the backlight/inverter that's broken... can give you the inverter part num if it's that, shine a light into it when it's powered, if you can read stuff on the display it's probably one of these that needs fixing.

It's not hard to replace the whole lcd in any case.. but use the broken lcd as bargaining leverage.

Nothing is present on display, no text and all pixels is off, only backlight is on. I'm asking of curiosity. mpc stuff wrote "dont buy it if you think you can't install it" so I was afraid of extremely hard installation I've found on service manual that this is inserted into socket and then ribbon cable is going into main board.

as we can see there are little shades in the corners. i've seen on other topics that solution may be reseatting RAM's and every ribbon cabbles. also replacing capacitors. is that screen is ordinary "black contrast screen" fixable by theese methods?

As said it's certainly not a difficult installation.
So anyway, your lcd inverter and backlight seem not to be the problem, the display almost looks like the contrast is not set correctly, did you turn that up and down?

You should always try the easy things first, just randomly replacing capacitors in this situation is like changing the exhaust on a car that seems to have engine problems.

I can see the frame of the os screen from the picture, try to reseat the lcd ribbon cable (make sure the mpc is unplugged when you do this).. You need to open up the hood to get to that..
Also try putting a pencil eraser across the lcd cable connector pins that go into the mainboard.. that is what fixed mine.

I'm afraid that when I buy it, I waste my money, because it can be something other than ribbon cable Can You tell me more about that "os frame" You said before? You say that is normal frame when powering ON? I can't see the MPC logo on this photo..

or just buy a 100% working mpc.

I can see os screen, but not clearly.. so yes something is not working 100%..
It's your decision if you want to buy it to fix or not.. If you can get this mpc cheap, it might be worth the gamble.. Otherwise as mentioned above buy a working one.. you could try ebay.co.uk or ebay.de

I would like to refresh this topic. I've got almost the same problem. I have changed FFC cord on new one and it was working fine, but after time it has came to black screen. The black light is working, I have tried use contrast knob, but its not this. I can hear some weird noises coming from power board something like a short circuit, but I'm not sure. MPC powers up as usual.
