I don't think this is a bug, but it's bugging me.

First you cannot create a new program and rename it via Hardware only software.
also in Hardware/Software browser i cannot select multiple samples and load them into memory only one by one? (tried shift+data wheel and shift +,+ on hardware) (tried shift and command on the mac)
it should be like mpcmaid just drag and drop multiple Samples to software pads, then hardware just hold shift, scroll or arrow down and press load.

Then say you have a existing .pgm file with 64 samples, you load that program then decide you don't want to use it, you can delete the .pgm but all the 64 samples are still in the memory. There's no sample purge in software/hardware and you cannot select multiple samples in the "project information" area in the main window to delete you have to delete 1 by 1.

I've only messed with it for about 1hour so far, I really hope I haven't spent enough time with her yet!
please tell me I'm trippin!

Also Noticed in Pad Assign you can hit the pad and change the color from red, yellow, green or orange thats nice but in order to assign a sound i have to use the cursor why can't we just hit the pad like to change pad color?

This is a bug thread not "It's bugging me thread."

Take a look at the manual. All these issues are currently by design. I agree with you 100% on those by the way. Add them to the feature suggestion thread.

Crashes occur when...
-Using the sudden button a couple times in song mode
-Playing a few times in song mode
-Editing a long sample

Others...
Screen mixup in the sample edit screen after discarding. Not 100%
The MPC takes over the PC audio master while playing youtube, wmp, etc...

Can you provide some specifics....step-by-step repro of these bugs?

Jah here are some repro steps for some of them. The others i am not quite sure what happened but had to throw it out there anyways.

Crashes occur when...

-Using the sudden button a couple times in song mode
Example:
Record a couple of notes or drums into 2 tracks on sequence 1.
Record a couple of notes or drums into 2 tracks on sequence 2
Go into song mode and insert 4 entries alternating seq 1 and 2.
While playing in song mode, press the sudden button twice.

-Playing a few times in song mode

-Editing a long sample

Others...
-Screen mixup in the sample edit screen after discarding. Not 100%
Go into Sample Edit
Chop sample but don't convert yet
Edit, Normalize, Do it.
Observe the screen overlapping.

-The MPC takes over the PC audio master while playing youtube, wmp, etc...
Open the MPC app, open youtube and play a video while playing with the renaissance Main Volume pot.

Daw SPECS
AMD Phenom II X6 1100t 3.3 GHz
12 GB Ram
64-bit windows 7 ultimate
2 120 GB SSD Drives (MPC App installed onto SSD Drive)
M-Audio Profire 2626
Running MPC app using MPC ASIO at Highspeed performance, 64 samples.

I look into the other issues shortly. This one...you should go into your PC's Device Manger/System Audio and choose a default audio device...or even disable the Ren's audio device if you don't want it to play your system sounds.

Thanks Jah. In the software i switched it to my profire and did not encounter any of the bugs i listed. So it narrows it down to the Akai ASIO which crashes the system. Is this a known issue? also i am still getting funky screens in sample edit mode. Also when using start and end points with the q links, it is very laggy on the mpc screen.

I know for sure that this is a known thing, and I don't like it either. I don't think thats considered a "bug" though.

When recording a plugin such as the bank, shouldn't you be able to hold down notes on the keyboard while pressing erase in overdub mode to get rid of unwanted notes? Not sure if this is a bug or just a feature from past MPCs that is missing in the Renn.

Thanks,

D

41. ERASE – As a Sequence is playing, hold this button down and press a pad to delete the note event for that pad at the current playback position. This is a quick way to delete note events from your Sequence without having to stop playback.

In V1, it works only from the pads. A good feature request though.

My Ren is freezing when I consistently press the stop button. Seems like the software is very shaky when files are accessed from Drives. I love where this is going but stability is key issue for me. Ive lost 3 ideas so far that I would have loved to continue to work on.

When auditioning the Chops why is it only in One Shot ? Im I missing something.

vst crashing with only 2 plugins in Ren

Vendor: Spectrasonic
Plugin Name: Omnisphere
Plugin Type: VST & AU
Version: 1.56d 32bit
OS: 10.7.4 OSX 64-bit
PC spec: 2x2.8 Quad core Mac Pro 14GB RAM
Specific details about the issue: MPC Renn is CPU spiking & audio is dropping out when changing sequences in song mode & also when manually changing between sequences while they are playing.

Can you post your issue in the above format? Once you have this project loaded with the 2 instances of said plugin, go to your Mac's Activity Monitor. Find the Ren in your processes. What is the %CPU and Real memory is the Ren using at this point?

As of OS1, the Ren doesn't support the multi-timbral operation of plugins. With it not being 64 bit, you can quickly eat-up available memory depending on type of plugin. With every plugin report that is posted here, the info is sent directly to developers. With the first update, you should see improved plugin stability within the confines of a 32 bit environment.

I highly recommend using the Ren's MIDI capabilities or your DAW to get around limitations of a 32 bit system.

Pressing the stop button sends an All Notes Off message to any VST programs you have loaded. If you can provide specific details about your issue, that would go a long ways towards trouble shooting.

As far as auditioning Chops, what do you mean specifically? Chops in Sample Edit/Chop Mode are actually auditioned using Note On; One Shot is not an option.
