what should i do first?

i just got my mpc 2000xl i dont know where to start. i just want to hear some sounds come from it. what is the first thing i should get

speakers/headphones, a sound source such as a cd player or turntable and mixer, and the manual.

it doesnt come with any sounds in it - so first step is to look up sampling and put some sound in it.
then plug in your headphones.
then hear sound.


after that it gets a little more hairy.

And get some floppies, Zip disc's or a CF card, whatever your machine uses.

All sounds in memory are lost on power down, if you don't save them after sampling/ editing you'll need to sample them all over again which quickly becomes tedious.
