How to bounce down to wave files, while in DAW?

How do we bounce down to wave files, while in DAW? In Maschine I have the option to drag n drop the pads to arranger, or simply mixdown various parts, I can't find anyway to do this in my daw.

In standalone, say for example I have a program that has multiple drums in a program, when I go to bouncedown, I have no option of splitting these drums parts to seperate tracks?> Is there something I'm missing? It just mixes the program, not cool... do i HAVE to manually change outputs or something, this would be a PITA

Mixdown seems a bit underdeveloped

I don't have a Ren yet, but from reading the manual I do believe that you literally have to have each drum or sample on separate midi tracks in order for it to work. What it does is bounce midi regions on a track to audio files if I'm not mistaken.

I don't know how it works with Studio One or with Ren, but I can tell you how it works with Maschine in Pro Tools. It may be similar. Start off by creating an instrument track in Pro Tools (may need midi track is Studio One doesn't have instrument tracks) and opening Maschine as a plugin on that track. Load your project in Maschine and set each sound/pad to it's own individual output (there's up to 32 mono channels or up to 16 stereo). Now go back into Pro Tools and create an audio track for each individual sound/pad in Maschine. Now you want to set the inputs of all your audio tracks. When you click the input button, you wanna go to plugin and you'll see all of Maschine's outs available. Just set each audio track to one of Maschine's outs that you assigned your sounds/pads too. Record arm your audio tracks and press play and you should now have Maschine's sounds showing up on the individual audio tracks. Now track your beat in Real-Time.

I don't know if the Ren has this same capability, but maybe you can try to apply this method!

Thanks guys for chiming in, I was really hoping for a much better solution for this sort of thing. This is like going back in time. Having to set individual outputs per pad everytime we wanna bounce is a workflow killer imo.

Hopefully AKAI creates a better system for mixdown, such as the pads within a program, or simply a drag n drop solution.

DJ Hellfire, When I expand the outputs in S1 for example, here's what the MPC REN output system looks like..tell me if this is od to you.

1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15 - I'm assuming these are the stereo outputs S1 is picking up from the REN.

To me this is a nightmare to have to manually change outputs, I guess just solo pad, would work faster, but that still sucks imo.. MASCHINE KILLS the MPC REN WITH THIS right now..

Having to set individual outs is the only way to track to your DAW in real-time and have the tracks separate. That's how it is with Reason and Maschine as well. If you don't want to set outs, just export as .wav mixdown and import into your DAW.

Correction - within Maschine when it's in a daw, you still have the option to bounce down individual pads or sounds - go to file - export audio - choose output sounds!

Correction - you can drag the sounds str8 to the arranger window, as mixdown stems..

or you can do it the way you mentioned..


So no working with MASCHINE is much faster.. The REN needs much better options here, and FAST..

But that is not REAL-TIME which is what I am talking about. With real-time tracking, it allows you to do live performances including mutes, drops, sequence/pattern changes, effects, etc, all during the recording without you having to edit these things in before or after tracking. 2 minutes of setting a few individual outs saves you hours of manual editing with the mouse in your DAW.

How do you use Maschine inside your DAW without Transport control anyway? That right there, IMO, is the worst workflow killer of them all.

I have a Faderport right next to it. I agree without host transport it's a pain,but that'll be here pretty soon in 1.8. Despite Host transport control, I'll have a look at setting up outs, but to me that is a workflow killer.

I'd much rather drag n drop from pads to the arranger window, and get to the actual audio clips faster, or when ever I want without setting up outputs.

.I'm not performing any sort of track mutes realtime, to me that's completely opposite of my workflow, I don't do that with my midi or vst instruments,I bounce, as I work better with audio tracks, and edit via a linear fashion..

BTW does anyone know if I go thru the trouble of setting up programs with separate outputs, can I use this as a template, and load a new program with the same output settings all in tact? Meaning I setup a pgm set it's outputs, load another program on a second track, and the same output settings work on the next pgm2?

sweet seems i wont be getting this new ren, i gave up on mpc back in days because of its slow process to export individual song track to pc, seems its the same long process with this new mpc. what a let down.

Anyone at AKAI care to mention if there will more options in the next update? This is really a PITA
