Just having fun with a minimalist setup...all Boss gear.

Cool little jam session kind of acid-funk ish. I find when I use gear from all the same manufacturer its that much easier for everything to sit well in the mix.

I see the wifey allows you enough time to play in the man cave. It's not that I don't have the time myself, it's the quality time I'm in need of.

If you guys don't know about the GT-10b and the DR880 then you need to try them out. That fx pedal is a monster. It has a nice little looper in it and just so much functionality especially if you add a control pedal to it like the Boss FS6...then you have so many parameters to control. It becomes a wonderful synth this way that is easy to tweak.
The DR880 is very well thought out...it just needs more individual outputs, and possibly light enabled pads so that you can see it in a dark club and know what is being triggered. All of these items are for guitarists and that is why they are easy and fun...because guitarists aren't like synth people or mpc 4000 people...lol. The DR 880 has many of the regular Boss pedals inside it so it is like having a GT10 (gt-10 is for guitar and the gt-10b for bass)
On a serious note, the trick to the DR880 is the fact that the pads are laid out like the frets on a 5 string bass in a traditional layout. I prefer playing bass on it instead of on a keyboard or on an actual bass. I can use one hand to shift octaves and make adjustments and the other to play the pads. It works well with the MPC4000 and my Z4 also.
Some cats really rock out live with these guitar fx units with just their vocals...beat box style. Boss has a competition where you can win $4000.

I'm a big fan of the DR-880! Its has some really nice acoustic drums! I've always wanted one, but never willing to pay shell out $300! A zip file of the drum kits is all I'd need!

I got my dr880 for $225 on craigslist. Just wait around for deals. I love the feel of the pads. I run the dr880 through a dbx compressor for an added snap...the other trick is to simply layer it with another Roland product for a thick sound.
