What new features can we expect in OS 1.1?

We will see.

But I find it humorous to read all the posts regarding the hardware not controlling 100% of the software juts to see someone else ask for more functions that you can use the mouse.

Yeh I'm not sure what that means, I just wanna be able to have the same export options as maschine

It wasn't meant to be a diss. I am just pointing out that MPC and Maschine users alike have been discussing what you can't do from the Ren's controller.

The drag-n-drop export of audio in the next update is unlikely as forum members already inquired about it. Dan responded with the way the Ren exports audio tracks.

In reality, I doubt the Ren will ever have all the functions of Maschine and vice versa.

I'm not sure what Dan mentioned, is there any sort of plans for better exporting in the next update?

I am not sure what is wrong with the current 'exporting' so I can't define what is better for you. There are some additional features. I'm vague because that is all I can be.

Well Currently if I have a program, and I use 16 sounds in it, I sequence 16 sounds in a sequence, I then go to mixdown the tracks separately, I change the outputs to different outs, , there's a problem ,I can't get anything other then a single wave file for the entire sequence and .pgm, so this is a major problem, which will probably make me RETURN the MPC. As this is a complete workflow killer.

I'd say this constitute's a major flaw in the current OS. To not compare the ren software to Maschine is pretty far fetched and it's gonna happen daily, for the rest of the lives of the products.Just saying, when a features good, perhaps the opposing team should run with it,if it works better.

Dan, is wrong if he thinks this isn't a major flaw.

That doesn't sound right...

1. Load a program with 16 sounds
2. Assign these program to 16 tracks
3. Record 1 sound per track
4. Go to Export and check the 'Render Separate Tracks'

You don't get 16 tracks of audio?

Why would u sequence 16 sounds on 1 track, we talkin about kicks, and snares, and highhats and such right

We're off to a bad start here, I'll explain..
MPC REN
1. Load program with 16 sounds - YES
2. Assign the program to 16 tracks <--- Are you kidding me? Why would I wanna do that? Other then the fact, that it's the only current way that Akai see's this fit...

Let me refresh my workflow with Maschine...

1. Load a program with 16 sounds..
2. Mixdown every sound from one track!!! <<<--- Notice no need to create 16 tracks!!! Does that make the workflow easier? Yeah it does, and this is apparently where Akai doesn't get the term workflow..

And #3.on the akai mpc ren workflow, Seriously?? Like I'm really gonna wanna track drums like this, record a kick track 1, record a snare track 2..Cymbal on track 3..

Not sure who in the world even tracks like this, but I bring up a kit, and record one .pgm all on one track.. Kick snare, Hats etc.. I never in my life would load up 16 different tracks for a realtime drum performance, not to mention chops and stabs..

That's just ridiculous

Read what I just posted above, maybe when you read my current workflow, you can see why.. not to mention, the mpc ren as a plugin doesn't even output midi so realtime recording it, in a daw, then using the split to midi notes features does NOT work, and it's no longer an option with the software, unlike it's counterpart aka as every other hardware Mpc...

this thing is underdeveloped big time!!!
whoever beta tested this, has no idea on workflow.. when it comes to mixdowns.. IMO

I couldn't imagine making beats with multiple sounds on one track. Isn't that the point of having the tracks in the first place? Seems like it would be a headache for many reasons...To each is own though
