eb-16 echo question...

what up yall, hope this question hasn't been asked, did a search and found nothing...

is there any way to change the rate of the echo on an eb-16? like say for instance sync up the echo with the bpm so the echo would coincide with my kicks and snares?

yes you can change the rate.. it goes by MS.... not by tempo. so you have to tweak it while listening. If you require it to be slower... do an echo manually with the pads and 16 levels... if you want left and right bouncing from side to side.... set up two blank pads with the same sample assigned to it as the main one you want to echo... pan one left and one right and again... use 16 levels velocity to do the echo fade out.

And don't forget that you record the mixer settings so you can have precise control over the levels and pan positions of each echo.

looks like a good one. How does it count the bpm? Some bpm counter (like the tap tempo in the mpc2000) are not very precise because they only count 4 or 8 taps and then start from new. Other counters count every tap so the more you tap the more precise the bpm will be.

I just set it manually because I always know the bpm beforehand.

I find tap tempo buttons universally shit to be honest.

Cool.

Back in the day I did everything by ear with the eb-16, but there's a lot of effects in the 4K that work in ms. It just makes sense to have a simple app on hand for those multi-tap delays etc. 8)

i wish the 2000/xl could house 2 eb-16 cards... and I wish you could assign each mfx and r1, r2 to their own outputs... and too bad the 2000/xl doesn't have a return in with a mix.... that would have been the sh!t.

oh, and last but not least... in the fx send screen... they should have allowed you to pan a sound going into the effect.... and the effect should have had stereo out.

I'd like to add that I sometimes don't use the exact ms. A little bit off add a nice feel (SOMETIMES) IMO.
