Ib4 ADAT issue with project mix

Here is my setup:

Win7/64 bit, Ableton - Project Mix ->Akai MPC 4000 connected via ADAT cable.

The isssue:

I have the ADAT extension card (IB4 ADAT card) installed in my MPC4000. I connected the ADAT in and out to the Project mix in/out. Both equipment ADAT out connections emitt red light. Ableton ADAT in/out are activated, ready to use. Project mix is set on the M-Audio firewire control panel, digital port section to ADAT input/output. Akai mixer panel set to sending audio to ADAT channels. So far I think everything is ready to use, but somehow there is no incoming signal.

First I sent signal from the AKAI to the project mix, but nothing came in (there is no signal on control panel, either Ableton). Then I swtiched the cables, but same issue. Then I sent signal from the Ableton -Project mix to the AKAI and it recieved the signal. I swaped the cables again for sure, but both work perfect.

So looks like the AKAI ADAT in and the Project Mix ADAT out works fine.

From this point I have no idea what to do. My firewire driver is the latest one I think ( it has instelled in April of 2010). I do think the hardwares are fine, behave healthy.


I need help in this issue! What do you recommend?

If win 7 has anything to do with this then focus on activating the ports that hold the I/O within windows audio control panel.

It's probably that you don't have the ports active and need to be switched from another current active port or something.

The M audio project mix has its firewire control panel. Far as I know this is the only control panel that is control anything regarding the project Mix. The ADATin/ouput is activated, and there is outgoing signal.

If this is what you mean by control panel. Or what do you exactly mean at the win control panel?

I checked something u recommended. I opened the WIn 7 sound control panel.

So there are ports like line1/2, line 3/4, multichannel and ADAT. This is the playback section and they all ready to use by the WIN. Which is very interesting is that I right click on it and make a test sound. The signal meter jumps up but I can t hear it. So there is some sort of routing virtual routing issue.

At the racoring Tab I see all the incoming ports and all ready to use.

Does anyone use this ADAT card?

If yes, can you explain me in few steps how you set the akai to send signal throught the ADAT out?

Ok. It is all sorted. What happened is: My Project mix sample settings is set to 48khz while the AKAI system clock was set to 44.1 khz. It must be set to the same value. How obvious is it!
