I've recently purchased a mpc 2000xl. Of course it's not as easy as I thought it would be. I thought i could put in my headphones and automatically get to work with produce a beat. But no. I could hear nothing. Is it possible i have the wrong headphones or something. I guess basically I need a mpc 101 tutor or something. I've looked online but no one or anything can tell me what I want or need to know: How to get started pretty much. I don't even have to wires I need let alone the floppy disks or anything. What do I need? Where can I find what I need. Please help. Thank you.

well first of all you need to know what an mpc is..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Production_Center

then you should download the manual for your mpc model..
http://www.mpc-forums.com/files/MPC2000XL/MPC2000XL_manual.pdf

then you should look on youtube for a vid showing what it looks like to make a beat on the mpc..
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=mpx+2000xl+&oq=mpx+2000xl+&gs_l=youtube.3...1129.3459.0.4252.11.11.0.0.0.0.99.845.11.11.0...0.0...1ac.1.m-hirAlRYC0

then you should buy the e-book for figuring out what the people in those videos are actually doing but not telling you in the video..

one tip for future reference...... do research before buying gear.... it saves time and money.
