Does anyone using Valixi 3.50 want to switch back to 3.11?

Hello all,

I am planning on buying an MPC3000 shortly.

I see some on ebay with that Valixi 3.50 OS and know that Rohan has gone AWOL, so if you want Valixi you need to buy one with it pre-installed.

Just wondering if anyone using Valixi 3.50 wants to switch back to 3.11?

Does Valixi have to remove any features from 3.11 to include its own features?

My other question is does anyone use Valixi 3.16? I know this was more of a bug-fix upgrade, is it still possible to install this?

I am former JJOS user on the MPC1000 and while it added some great things, it all caused me a few glitches, just wondering how Valixi acts....

I have 2 LE's. One with 3.11 and the other with Valixi. Best of Both Worlds.

I wondered if there was some remorse felt there, too
I tied an MP with Valixi in it and I didn't feel the need to make the jump, but it's a shame because it's a wonderful option to buying a newer machine

A question I've been asked a few times recently.

Will I take the chips out of my LE and sell them, because Rohan isn't around...

why should somone sell his valixi chips... there is no reason...except somone need cash. but to run his mp again on 3.11 makes no sense...

It should have been because I've had first hand information that Rohan is still alive and walking on planet earth.

Unless he, himself is actually ready to log in and say "Hey guys... you wouldn't believe it, but ________ happened to me!", can we do forgo the vague posts regarding his well being? No offense, Sensei- but there have been several posts like that and none of them have panned out to be anything even remotely substantial.

I wrote a big long response here with the details but thought I didn't think it was right to to divulge a private conversation nor do I need to prove anything, but the person I spoke with has know him for 15 years and sold him something within the time period of all this sh!t going down. Apparently vanishing underground isn't unusual for Rohan.

You can discount what I am saying but the guy was surprised and a little humoured when I told him of this situation (the person is an ex-akai rep and has owned and knows MPC inside out for over 15 years - he's also known Rohan that long). He laughed cause he had sold him something in that time period and he is familiar with him Rohan being "eccentric".

I was trying to get the OS for myself cause I knew this guy knows him and could get in touch. I also wanted to help out the forum members who didn't get what they paid for. IF you follow the initial and subsequent threads I was always chiming in and showing interest.

He told me Rohan isn't even getting back to him now. I'm just the messenger and I was trying to help.

Nothing is substantial cause the dude doesn't want to be contacted and is hiding low for certain reasons. Whether they are valid reasons is anybody's guess. I just think it sux that people didn't get what they paid for.

I really wanted to get this guy to contact him and help people out. But the guy is hiding low and it's not for me to say why cause it is exactly that "Heresay", though I believe what the person told me.

I hear you- glad you didn't take that the wrong way. It's just a touchy subject since so many people have been burned. It'd be nice if there were a concrete way for the air to be cleared and for things to be made right, purchase wise- but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I do know that if I were waiting on my chips I'd be really frustrated by hearing that he's "OK", but no other info on him ya know? This is extra disconcerting because we all went from "Hope he's OK" to hearing that he is OK, but still MIA, holding peoples' funds and not providing what they paid for. The damage has been done, I believe. He can give refunds/mail chips that have been purchased, but it will take a long time for folks to forget this and trust him. It takes years to build a reputation, and only a moment to destroy it.

Now this is the thing you guys will find interesting and I was reluctant to say for two reasons: (but hey we're not dealing with a murder case)

1. I didn't want to add more fuel to the fire
2. Rohan probably reads this forum still and he'll know who I am talking about

It's not as though he's asked this guy to keep anything hidden, cause the guy was totally unaware of any of this.

When I told him, he didn't seem surprised and added "he'll be back he's an honest guy and he does things like this from time to time since I've know him" He divulged a little more and while anecdotal it gave me a bigger picture, but it's really not for me to say in a public forum, though it's not terribly sinister. It's not for me to create an impression for other people. If I knew him I could give the picture as this guy did for me but I don't know him.

Anyhow the thing that I was told that was sold to him, and bare in mind this is before I said anything about any of this, was a ROM burner that he had to pull out of his old 286 computer and sell to Rohan cause Rohan's went bust! 100% truth what I was told.

That is what I was told and why I pressed further for this guy to get in contact with him, but the irony of all this is that me telling you this has probably lessened the chance of this guy getting in contact with him.
