jj operating system

Wondering if there will be a JJ operating system for the 4000 now, or another third party os, since Akai has the renaissance

Never. The whole JJ thing exists because he had/has the original 1000/2500 OS source code in his possession. So he is limited to only adapting those OS's to his JJOS's.

The story goes he was the assistant to the lead OS programmer at Akai Japan, that guy had done the 4000 OS. Most people figure this is why so many 4000 like features have been added by JJ to his 1000/2500 OS2XL.

But unless Akai allowed the old OS's to be available as open source, and they won't, you won't see what you're dreaming of for the 4000.

Not late at all buddy, I'm juest expressing myself, don't take it so serious, I trading the 4000 for the Ren soon, I was just venting

There no jj os for ren to you know. :lol:

I'm getting the Ren to in Nov but keeping my 4k as it can be a synth too. And msb and lsb works great with hardware.

This type of talk reminds me of when the digital revolution came around and cats was like "Im trading my 808 and analogue synths for some new digital machines or software".

At least wait until the software is mature before taking such drastic action. There's not as many 4000's floating around as people might think. The 4000 is the new 3000, it will take some many years to truly appreciate what it brings to the party.

And for the record, I dont give a fcuk about JJOS and the hype that surrounds it.

Nor should anyone who has ever made heat on a 60, 3000, 2000/ XL or a 4000.

Think about that for a minute, seriously.

Why would anyone sell a 4k for a Ren? If somebody offered me a straight up trade, my 4k for their Ren, I would laugh In their face.

Get the Ren but keep the 4k! The trade in wouldn't be equal you may regret your trade in!

And no one at the time would have listened to anyone saying keep your existing gear.. Leave the sheeple dance, while we snap up more classic gear. :smoker:

And if you do regret it, it's not going to be cheap to cop another one unless you get extremely lucky find a good deal.
