1. I didn't want to add more fuel to the fire
2. Rohan probably reads this forum still and he'll know who I am talking about

but

It's not as though he's asked this guy to keep anything hidden, cause the guy was totally unaware of any of this.

When I told him, he didn't seem surprised and added "he'll be back he's an honest guy and he does things like this from time to time since I've know him" He divulged a little more and while anecdotal it gave me a bigger picture, but it's really not for me to say in a public forum, though it's not terribly sinister. It's not for me to create an impression for other people. If I knew him I could give the picture as this guy did for me but I don't know him.

Anyhow the thing that I was told that was sold to him, and bare in mind this is before I said anything about any of this, was a ROM burner that he had to pull out of his old 286 computer and sell to Rohan cause Rohan's went bust! 100% truth what I was told.

That is what I was told and why I pressed further for this guy to get in contact with him, but the irony of all this is that me telling you this has probably lessened the chance of this guy getting in contact with him.

Also disconcerting- not meaning to jump to conclusions, but if this is true (and you've given me no reason to doubt you, but I am keeping an open mind here) then it's equally frustrating as this whole debacle could've easily been avoided.

Easy: Your ROM burner craps out- that sucks, but hey- shit happens. People will understand. Temporarily disable your purchase links with a notice that they will be back up when the issue is resolved. Send a personal email to each customer that is waiting on their chips relaying the situation and offer them a refund, or the chance to wait for it to be resolved and their chips to be sent (whenever that may be) it'd be their call.

Going silent to your small but loyal community of customers/end users and taking funds without providing the product they are spending their many, hard earned dollars on is inexcusable. "Eccentric" or not, at this point it's being crooked, flat out.

The details you have been able to give shed some light on the situation, which I hope is resolved at some point, hopefully soon.

Yes it's all very strange and everything is a guess.

I really wanted to get hold of this OS and I feel for the guys who didn't get it after paying for it. I was also extremely annoyed at the time how a lot of people got on their case when all they were trying to do is get what they paid for.

Who knows what's going on? I've known of people that have gone through things in their lives that has left them unable to deal with the world. I don't know if that is what has happened here (really I have no idea) but I just hope it can all get sorted.

The fact that the site is still up is strange though.

If you read over my posts since I've been here, you'll see that I've never got involved in petty stuff, always tried to help (particularly years back when people had specific questions) and you can take it with a grain of salt but I'm a man of my word. The part about him buying the new Rom Burner is 100% what I was told.

well...

thanks for your insight into the issue sensei..

imho, it is very fast approaching that date where respecting a certain someone's intelectual property rights and wishes of the forum default protectorbots is a lost cause...

in the long run, no matter who did what, or what it means to them, the community is infinitely important than ANY one man... especially one who seems to have no issues tarnishing their own reputation by a lack of any due dilligence so consistently for such a length of time...

If Rohan never comes back, I hope someone that he burnt gets hold of a copy and shares it. Hopefully someone will figure that since he is stealing MPC3000 users' money, that MPC3000 users' should steal his OS.

I would really rather just pay for it, but this situation is ridiculous...still paying for the website to be hosted, still taking money from potential customers, claiming that the OS has been sent out when buyers complain to PayPal, etc.

I could really use the extra features, but it looks like I'll have to buy a MPC with it already installed, copy it for my own MPC, and sell the other MPC on, at least while we wait to see if he ever reappears.

If you are reading this Rohan, please get over whatever is **** going on, and start selling/shipping the OS again, or at least repay those who have not received it, and post up the image for us to use, if you have no interest in selling it anymore.

It is a real pity that such an awesome piece of work had to turn to shit like this.
