I got some Ensoniq gear in the hardware for sale forum ATM.

Cheaper than Armens, but then who isn't? LOL



I am also looking for gear, especially an ASR-10. Where would I find 'the hardware for sale forum'?

Nah, just goes to a Facebook login screen. Was it a link to a flick on FB? I usually do those on a desktop using view image to get a link that will display the picture. Not sure if selecting the photo gets you the direct link on FB mobile. (Should work on a mobile web browser on FB though).

ASR-10 fan mod..?...I wanna see that man. :nod:

Mine is really old one so I'll probably need a fan mod at some point myself. (No SCSI I use the machine in small doses and just record the output, I don't even save anything.)

Don't know how much circuitry you had to take out, but I remember when I replaced the two broken keys on mine disassembling the ASR-10 was a lot of work. I posted pics of the stripdown in the ASRonians thread.

Im assuming you cut a hole in the casing Jazzcat? Any fan noise to contend with?

Wierd seeing a photo which shows two bits of gear that I sold to two different forum members, in the same room. Proof that this forum works, offline.

Stripping the ASR down was easy as was going in via the service hatch :)

The hardest part about this mod was cutting through the thick metal chassis as the plastic side is only a side plate.

As with most fans you can hear it, but it's no louder than a pc.

It could always be fitted with a silent fan and power switch in the future... Being able to turn a noisy fan off could be useful in a studio environment
