they are all about the same - even the no-name $5 midi -> usb adapters are legit.
yours looks nice because it is probably built better and has the nice status lights.

what are you trying to use it for? it is only for midi you know.

I don't know about that...have you read the reviews on the cheap/no-name/chinese knockoff $5 Midi-USB adapters? Most of them have major issues with latency and/or wrong keys or off keys being played, etc...it's all on the world wide web.

There is a reason they cost only $5. If you want quality you gotta pay for it ($40 for the Roland UM-ONE).

Basically I want to hook up the MPC to my PC and utilize music editing software such as Ableton, Protools, or FL Studio to transfer a recorded track from the MPC to the software for simpler sequencing (not sure if I'm using the right word here, what I'm trying to do is use the music editing software to lay the tracks/patterns down instead of having to do it on the MPC) and/or exporting to MP3/WAV.
