Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hi All,

First time poster. Just got my MPC 500 and am in love with it so far. I have a question and I've been searching for the solution all over the internet, to no avail.

My group had used an Alesis SR 16 for the last few years and programmed all of our drum beats on that. Now we have made the switch over to an MPC 500 and I'm having a rough time sending the song forms over to the MPC 500.

The question I want to know is.
Is there a way to send the midi patterns from the drum machine to my mpc so I don't have to spend hours reprogramming each song form? There's different patterns, A and B for some of the tracks. What would the easiest way be?

I also have the midi saved in a Logic file, perhaps this will help?

Sorry I'm somewhat of a noob in transfering data, and I have the pad banks set up as the old drum machine's bank, just need to figure out how to send the data for the forms over.

Thanks!

you need to export it from logic in a standard midi file, then import it into your mpc and save it as a new project after you get your samples and stuff in there.

make sure that you change the first track on your sequence to a midi track, then set the pads with samples on them to their respective midi notes.
