thanks man! it worked like a charm! I really hope AKAI decides to fix these 3rd party plugin problem.

actually it won't let me copy to a new sequence now without crashing.

Yeah. I went through what I think is the same thing. Even when I removed all vst plugins and inserts, it still crashed on copying sequence. The workaround I suggested was just to be able to open it, and perhaps export the tracks or just listen to it. Post the error codes when it crashes. Akai's developers monitor this thread.

When I go to record, everything is normal until it begins to overdub, then everything freezes. Pushing buttons on the hardware does nothing. I restart the MPC software and my hardware unit is still frozen like it is recording an overdub pass. There is really not much going on in this project, no plugins, 1 PRGM and 1 MIDI track. Any ideas?

I work this way as well but haven't seen this issue. If you can reproduce this issues, can you send me me your project file (programs, samples), information about your PC/Mac, and specific steps to reproduce this issue?

Will do sir. I'll PM you a link to the project file and any other info I can provide. It might not be until this weekend though. Are all the required files/samples saved in the same location or do I need to save a program with samples specifically to make sure you get everything?

I need everything you can send me so I can attempt to duplicate the issue you are having. Then I can forward to developers to address.

Anyone can submit a bug to Akai's own support site this is true. And any bug posted in the support site will make its way to developers through....drum rolls please....a 'middle man'.

However...unlike Akai support flight, I am available around the clock, weekends, and holidays. :-D And anyone submitting a bug here in this forum or directly to me, I personally enter it immediately to a bug tracker for developers to take a look at....no middleman.

Shame on your for co-signing him. You are fully aware of his intentions to disrupt the harmony us actual Ren users have.

third wrote:are the 1.1 updates different or something? why won't the US get the updates the same time as Europe?

It has been reported that the Ren shipments to Europe will have the 1.1 DVDs. The Ren is on backorder at most retailers in the US. Eventually, future shipments will likely include the 1.1 DVD as well. But when the 1.1 update is available, you will be able to download it. Within the MPC software, there is a 'Check for updates' menu. It will let you know if an update is available.

Why is it a shame? Think about it would you rather have the usual suspects hound you over the os's of previous mpcs and whatnot or go there and unleash their concerns thus
freeing up the users forum here? I mean the developers can really answer the calls directly what is what.

Think again!

Jah you got to take the good with the bad and moyphee post was cool. And if the other run over there, not here to raise hell the more the better. Ren forum was never the place to gripe about past OS problems with other mpc units. That should and could be done in the respective forums. But since there is a dedicated forum by Akai to talk with the developers no power to them to settle their own units faults and leave Ren forums to Ren users!!!!

Shit I would still like to have the 2.0 for 4k that went to the 2.5 and 5k but I'm not holding my breath for it. And I still bang out the 4k and will continue even when I got the Ren.

Compromise is good you and morphee are both passionate about mpcs work together sometimes find what you do have in common? :smoker:

He is just upset because forum members are reporting their issues here and I am helping them out. He'll have to get use to it.

Gertrude, I am on the Akai MPC Ren Quality Assurance/Testing team. If you need some help with your Ren, I will even make time to help you out. :smoker:

No he is just showing an alternative. But get my drift if diehards have a legit place to have their concerns address then give them the opportunities to go there. And this forum can get to using the Ren and tips for music production with it.

See the light grasshopper. :smoker:

Hey... everyone I have a 100% fix's for the expansions DVD's not working on Macbook Pros and some window computers.

I just got off the phone with Akai tech, so call them at 401-658-4032. They will email you a zip or .dmg for the expansions. The links are a one time download. They understand that some computers/macbook Pro's CD/DVD drives are having issue with single layer DVDs. So just call them and tell them your issue and they will hook you up.

PS: I'm the 1st guy in Germany that have the Ren...
