Anyone keep it vinyl only on here? I know it slows down the creative process a bit for me but I like diggin' in the crates for all my sounds.

It's tough to keep everything strictly vinyl (especially if you use synths), but it's a nice challenge either way.

I was messing with ustream a bit lately... and recording audio of the results right into ustream (so the quality is not the greatest... )

there are a bunch. some of the bits in some of the songs are a synth for bass or something like that but it's all vinyl besides that.... mpc 2000 right into the ustream client.

All of my earliest beats were strictly vinyl, except for a few synth sounds:

I used to think it was the best thing to have a nice sound, but i changed my mind, most of my samples still come from vinyl, but i use a lot of drum kits(mostly TR808/909) for drum layering, and VST's for my synths and effects. My beats sound better this way :-D

it depends on my mood really. i'm sample based any way so its a matter of which direction the sample guides me if i go strictly vinyl or i load up drums and use my synth
