Yamaha Motif with mpc1000

What is the best way to sequence my keyboard with my mpc? I am new to this, and I want to make music with both of them synced together. should I spend the $ on cubase or protools or something? or is there a way I can sequence them together for now without my computer?

what is a good mixer? I guess my question is, is it possible to sequence a midi keyboard on a mpc 1000s sequencer?

Yup, it works, I do it with a Kawai K5000S.

I think he just meant an audio mixer, to mix the sounds from all your gear together. When the Motif is synced to the MPC by MIDI, both will be producing sound, how will you mix that down to 2 tracks? You don't need to transfer the audio into ProTools to produce a mix.

I just feel with a little more desire to learn, the manual(s) for your equipment would have been the 1st thing to pick up and study.
