Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hey everybody,

I got myself a mpc 500 but after playing around a few hours I got still the problem that if I want to record samples with the mpc there is no input. I plugged it in to my mixer but when I start the vinyl there is no signal on my level meter, not even if I turn the record sound higher. I searched for solutions and tried some but with no success. What am i doing wrong? It sucks to have a mpc without being able to record things.
Thanks for the help.

Hey man, welcome to world of MPC.
I don't know exactly how you've currently set up, so try this :

1) Connect cable to output of mixer ( Left and Right)
2) Connect other end of cable to Input of MPC (Left and Right)
3) On MPC, press MODE followed by PAD 4 (RECORD)
4) Get your vinyl going on turntable
5) Increase REC GAIN knob; you should now start to see the MPC display start to flicker with the sound of the vinyl.
6) Hit Do It button as desired point to start recording and again to stop.

If this doesn't work, let us know, as your set up or settings may need adjusting.

Hey
I set everything up like you said but my display is not flickering, I really have no idea what is wrong. I even tried the output of my amp. Nothing happens.
That **** sucks.

Yes it does. And I also checked the Line in buttom on the back. I tried to record with my CD player but there is no signal on the level meter aswell. Maybe there is something wrong with my adapters for stereo to 6,3mm.
