Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Jurrell,
Can you give some more info? Are you trying to make something similar to mpcprgmmaker? Or a music making emulation kind of like the fly's software?

4 MIDI outs and the option to run JJ OS hahaha

Few things..
An option to have grid view would be nice in step edit with other various improvements made there, ability to highlight bars/notes and easily move them about, copy/paste etc
Also some x0x programming mode would be cool
An audio thru as mentioned before
The ability to edit a sample whilst the sequencer is playing back
Either get rid of the stupid buffer lag when displaying waveform or have the option to go to numbers like on the MPC-60 and 3000
Extract function like S-3000 when chopping would be also nice

I doubt JJ will do anything for the 2000XL If any one could of done I think it would of been Rohan, he already did a different OS for the MPC-3000 and that uses the same NEC V-53 CPU as the MPC-2000XL

I'm not sure just quite how far the hardware can be pushed if at all as it is getting on a bit but regardless if some one knew how to program it, it could at least be refined or even get rid of some of the existing bugs it still has!

The XL is my fave MPC so of course I'd like to see some development for it

1/64 note timing

Effects would be nice

USB port

To be fair, I still haven't been able to find a replacement for the XL. It's the best there is and it's easy to overcome the few deficiencies it has.

Unless you make drum & bass you could just double your tempo at 1/32.

I feel like we are inventing a 16bit mpc4000 :-D

You can mute "pads" :-D

Yeah off course you can but im talking about "MUTE GROUPS", not mute a single pad!

Yeah for sure, I would like mute groups and/or a monophonic option. I suppose you could make mute groups by chaining pad mutes and multiple pad triggers together, but making that program would a Blast!
