Hey guys,
I have a stack of S1000/S3000 CD Roms I bought from back in the early 90s.
I have been trying for some time now to get the CDs from my PCs CD drive into my USB'd 5000 with OS 2.0 but cannot get that approach to work.
Im willing to buy the optional £200 Akai CD ROM drive (scandalous!! CD ROM drives cost £200 in 1998!!) for this purpose alone but before I shell out that much cash can anyone tell me if it can do what I need it too.......
1 - Can my MPC 5000 actually read the CDs from its own CD drive. (im guessing yes as its OS 2.0 but no where in the 2.0 manual does it tell you how to feed S1000 samples into the 5000!)
2 - Can I then rip those CDs to my MPC harddrive or am I stuck with them on original CDs?
(Ideally id like to have one big library separated into specific folders on my harddrive as opposed 25 separate CDs to load in and out at once.)
Any advice appreciated.
