WHAT'S GOOD! I AM A CRATE DIGGER AND I LOVE THESE RECORDS. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHERE SOME PEOPLE SAY IT IS TAKING AWAY THE ART OF DIGGING,BUT YOU CAN ALSO FIND OUT WHERE TO FIND THAT ORIGINAL ALBUM. SOMETIMES I JUST LISTEN TO ENJOY THE MUSIC,FIND A IDEA FROM IT AND CREATE SOMETHING NEW. IT'S NOT WHO USED THE RECORD, IT'S HOW YOU CAN FLIP IT. IT ALL UP TO YOU TO CREATE THAT NEW SOUND. WITH ME I CAN HEAR OTHER THINGS GOING ON IN A SONG GO HIT MY MP AND TRITON AND MAKE SOMETHING HOT. ALOT OF PEOPLE GET ALL VAGINAL AND SHIT AND BAD MOUTH PEOPLE AND SAY "SO AND SO USED THAT, YOU CAN'T USE THAT !'' ETC. I MAY PICK UP A BREAKBEAT ALBUM JUST BECAUSE I CAN'T FIND THE ORIGINAL.

all i will say is that alot of the songs on dusty finger comps are not easily found anymore and if u do find the orginals expect to pay over £100.

now I aint a professional digger/beatmaker/dj so i certainly dont have that kinda money to spend on records so ill buy the comp.

and ill find an odd section of the song and flip it harder, the fact that other people have the same record dont mean nuthing to me that will just inspire me to try and flip the sample in a more creative way.

WHATS WRONG WITH THESE COMPS?NOTHING,YOU GOT A COLLECTION OF LISTENABLE MUSIC,AND WHATS WRONG WITH FLIPPPING SONGS PREVIOUSLY SAMPLED BY OTHER ARTIST?NOTHING!PLUS YOU GET "REMASTERED SOUND" SON!!!,SAMPLING DONT DISCRIMNIATE,ONLY THE PEOPLE DO. PLUS THERES ALOT OF SONGS YOU'LL NEVER FIND DIGGING ANYWERE,AND IF YOU DO,YOU WILL PAY AN ARM AND A LEG!SON.................................

I don't knock it, but digging for your own samples is 90% of the art. If you're just using breakbeat LP's just for drums cause you don't want to spend 15 dollars on a record for a certain snare that's cool... but to take the time to dig for some original ish that hasn't even been heard before is the joy of making beats to me... if you got love for the art then you won't let money be an issue when digging, I got tons of records for FREE that I salvaged from the trash or that I asked relatives for, or that someone was about to throw out cause it takes too much space up in their cramped apartment. You'd be surprised what you can come up with if you just put the word out that you're looking for records...

dusty fingers force you to be creative. iff you gotta use em don't just loop em up. they make a good starting point but theres a whole lot of vinyl out there, and it doesn't all have to be $50 jazz lps. some of my favorites ive gotten w/ waterdamaged covers and cobwebs and ish for a quarter. i even got some ill jazz for fifteeen cents!

to be honest.....the only thing that bothers me is ones who snitch on other beatmakers....and it does not take away the art of digging because all or most of those joints on those album been used already.....one reason why they put them out.......and those "jewels" will not be found on a compilation unless one of these future cats used the joints......bangers? yes jewels?....no.....there are diggers digging everyday and compilations can't catch all of those jewels...and if you really wanna be honest...it kinda puts the fun into digging because now everyone can't pick up a few records and call them jewels....because....what happen to the track when the cat is let out the bag??....it is no longer the joint to have........"ok.....back to digging"

i only use the dusty finger records for drum purposes...but even with that, i don't rely on that....and the songs i don't even bother to sample...

sometimes the song itself is such a masterpiece, that you can't **** with it period

i like listening to them joints...they give some good creations to vibe to..when i get a chance, i'll post up the only song/remix i really used the drums/percussion for on yousendit sometime
