Program / Sequence help

Help!

So I have a program,with one bank of samples, assigned. When I load a sequence (that I'm importing as a midi file), it overwrites the bank of samples that I had assigned in the program.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I be saving the sequence/song somewhere then load the samples and assign them buttons? Then save everything as a follow?

Can someone walk me through this please? If I have in the program my samples whats the next step? What do I save as? And if I save a song/sequence, where should I save that in the folder?

I'm guess I'm confused on where a file plays into all this.

Alright, my normal way of doing this is when you have everything lined up, you save the whole project, which saves the program and sequences alike.

If somehow you messed it up, try importing the midi file first then loading the program (not project, program) by itself, so it loads the samples on top of the pad while having the midi sequence already loaded.

I'm a little hazy right now on how to save a project?

Right now I have a program saved: This includes samples with MIDI notes assigned to them correctly. Then I have a sequence, which contains a midi track that I've sent from logic (based on an old drum machine). Anyways, this works, when I assigned the track of the sequence to the right program.

What I want to do save both the program and sequence in one place, a folder or a project so that when I load it up, it has both loaded up. Ideally, the work flow would be friendly to a live setting. Essentially, I'm playing three programs, which will all have sequences attributed to them, (most will be one program, a few will be from the other two programs).

Any ideas on workflow?

haha. I am not on drugs. But still unsure on what Project versus Program is?

I am still very confused by the program part.
For example, I have a program where I assigned 12 samples. (One set of drums). For my sequences, it plays these samples.

Now, I've created a new program called "808". As you may have guessed, I have assigned 808 samples to different pads. But now when I load the sequences again, they play the 808 sounds instead of my first program. When I go to the track and its assignment pad, it says its pulling from the program 1 pad but is playing the 808 sounds. Then when i load program 1 back up it plays the right samples again. Very confusing, can't I have more than one program loaded at once? How do you assign programs and keep them all loaded?

If you have your 808 program loaded and record a sequence on track 1 and then load another program. You may hear you sequence playing the samples from the new program. Whilst in the track screen, hit params, and your loaded program's are in here. You can scroll through them and select which program you want.

For example.

I've loaded 3 program's. drums, bass and keys.

For track 1,2 & 3 i'll select my drum program and record my hat, kick and snare on their respective tracks.

Then for track 4 i'll select my bass program and keys for track 5.

That means whatever pad events are recorded on these tracks, the sample from the mentioned program's will play.
