Be specific. What midi events? What all of them? even DAWs have trouble getting all midi data from a complex musical passage, not gonna happen IMO on MPC.
WTF makes you wanna do this anyways, if ya wanna rip something off then use a DAW or learn to write stuff in the first place. Asking for a shortcut to rip of music is a bit silly to me. I have never ever needed to do this, in years of making music.
Ok so if you really really need to do this to drums you do what I said and then make midi kit that matches. Done. Then you can edit those notes to another kit that has more reasonable arrangement on the pads or matches the general midi spec. See what I am saying. If you atually do some work, you can get transcribe any beat into midi, with all the velocity and swing you want. Its not instant and you have to do it.  Hope that is not too much of a shock. So the more I think about it, the more i think its not a great idea at all, and can not be done either. Bloody hell I could do a bar in like 5 minutes very accurately, and with other instruments to. easy.

I was always talking about note events.

Can't think of much other midi data you could get from an audio file with set slice-points relative to the length of the whole audio file.

You have your workflow and others have their... no need to downplay others just for that. There is a lot of stuff that can and need be done using DAW, but the feature outlined in this request is not one of them.

Ok so if you really really need to do this to drums you do what I said and then make midi kit that matches.

I agree that this isn't necessary to use on drums, but I'd find it useful to any other arbitrary piece of sampled music.

Its not instant and you have to do it.

Isn't this request about solving (read: making easier & faster) this?

...but yeah, submitted it and only time will tell what happens. Can live without it, but would be a happy camper if it gets implemented in one form or another.

yeah fair play. . You make reasonable points MTC. I appreciate you breaking it down for us. But do what? you want the chop points as a midi note info like note on for chop point, but want the chops to be by transients right?
So I suggest you use Auto chop in NDC mode. But this means then that you can not play it straight and still want that as midi note info for each chop?
I mean i get this far and its back to above method. Good to notice that, in this instance, the auto chop by transient feature takes note of the amount of chops wanted to. So you can set a number of chops then use auto to find the chops automatically. But this all depends on the transients threshold and recovery time. This will need to be set to every different sample. So even that is not auto, you have to do something even if it just setting the values for these two values. But it will be different every sample, and even in the default setting it can be hit and miss, pun not intended. So you reckon you want that to be then put out as midi note on info for every chop start point set by the transients. Would give better indication where the exact point a event happens, but chops need to be sequenced still, ie need to play each chop in order, after each other. So in this respect it is not too dissimilar patched phrase. So thats what I suggest you look at programming wise. If you can get the patched phrase to make drum midi note then you have it. BUT you still will have to set transients threshold and release. Still come on people. If anything that is the closet thing that is what your talking about already in the OS.
