Well maybe in liberal-interpretation land...

In the real world, I disagreed with your opinion that BPM is the best MPC-like software. Like u say an opinion is just that... However it seems that you are the type who can't stand to have your opinion challenged... That's a defining characteristic of narcissism. Don't worry, You really are the best thing since sliced bread... :lol: :lol: :lol:

Isn't that what's supposed to happen? Ego can't handle it? Then keep your opinion to yourself... :idea: Duh.

F-it man you win!....at least you make sense when you articulate all those big words. Unlike Jabronee debauch who had a REAL problem with me PERSONALY......OVER THE NET!......LIKE WE PASSED EACH OTHER ON PRINCE STREET IN NEWARK!

i used to wait for mpc1000 updates; pre jj os, when i was named sumthin else, back in the day with a cat named mp3......is that u?

yeah, you alright son. is it ok if i post from another BPM thread HERE. cause im not the only one that thinks like this. Y / N ? wanna see? anybody? no?

they are soft-sampler comparrisons leaning toward BPM (of course--but this is a BPM Review thread)

True story. Beat Thang virtual is hot (A true sleeper !) Honestly, I didn't think that many people were on to it (Y'no, like that lil secret 'ware' u don't think anyone else has). I think the BPM and BTV are neck and neck, both with there own sonic vibe. As I mentioned earlier, in terms of audio quality and user friendliness, these are about the best out there. The drums just stand on their own merit just, like back in the day when I first heard the MPC 3000 and 2000XL. No matter whether you were using a Kurzweil or a Roland or whatever, them MPC drumz just stood out - Reub.

Nope not me. I bought my 1000 for the JJ OS. If it wasn't for JJ I would probably have the 5k or 4k.

my problem is you talk trash and and dont spit facts. I said i doubted your theory on there being a big difference between the sound quality of maschine and bpm... so show some stats or something to explain what you are talking about rather then "it sounds dull". Never been to newark.. so I dont get the reference.
By ReuBen KinKade Fri Dec 11, 2009 3:44 am
Good point, Mr_debauch, because opinions on sound quality are just that, opinions. However, BPM allows for the user to import and use 32 Bit samples. If there is an audible difference between 16 Bit and 24 Bit, well....... you know that 32 Bit sounds increase the dynamic range floor to above 144 dB. Maschine doesn't support 32 Bit waveforms, but BPM does and because of this difference, it's dynamic range potential is significantly increased..... in other words, dem drumz can be as punchy as you want them to be. This ultimately can contribute to 'louder' mixes while in pre-production mode, making it easier to mix, hear detail, and master with little artifacts. Even if BPM was not 32 Bit, the algorithms used by UVI to construct the BPM audio engine are top-notch. Even Stylus RMX which uses the UVI engine does not rise to the 32 Bit dynamic range floor - Reub.

Luv my Maschine but BPM samplez warmer!
I love my Maschine but, I also have BPM. As hard as it is to understand what B-Righteous is saying, HE'S RIGHT! The NI samples are VERY DIGITAL and COLD, while on the other hand the BPM samples are very warm, creamy, thick, mastered and pierce through a mix. Unless you've heard BPM or have tried out a friends it's hard to explain the difference on a forum website. The attraction to the sound of either NI or BPM is probably based on the genre of music you are producing. NI is more for TRANCE, AMBIENT and DANCE oriented producers. The BPM samples were MASTERED by PROFESSIONAL HIP-HOP ENGINEERS! The samples are ready for a record RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! That's the HONEST TO GOD TRUTH! I have tried to put PSP vintage warmers on the NI samples just like everyone else. There was no substantive difference. On the other hand I have put NI synthetic drums through MASCNINE and through BPM. When played through BPM SONICALLY I sound like DR. DRE! It's hard to believe the difference until you EXPERIENCE it.

YOU NEED ANY MORE PROOF?...ARE WE "SHOWIN STATS" YET?.......YE--NO?.......OK

actually no you haven't, all you did was copy paste someone's opinion about the included samples that come with each product. who cares about the included samples... they are great for learning the program.

reuben on the other hand knows how to discuss differences using more then heresay.

I was under the assumption that bpm was max 24/96 up untill now but i realised the thing i was reading was mentioned in the "included sound loops" section, my bad.

Included sounds and loops

* 15+ GB library of all-new, never before released loops, samples and beats
* Over 10,000 individual samples
* Over 1,000 new drum and percussion loops
* 24-bit 96 kHz audio quality
By ReuBen KinKade Fri Dec 11, 2009 5:42 am
Yeah, It's a MOTU thing !!! They don't always go into great detail about the usefulness of their products, and when they do, it's generally more complicated than it needs to be. The library that comes with BPM was recorded or converted to 24 Bit / 96 Khz at one point in the process. However, if you have a sample rate and bit rate converter like Audiofile Engineering's Sample Manager and you convert samples or drum sounds that you may have already had to 32 Bit / 96 Khz, or even 32 Bit / 192 Khz and drag them into BPM, they'll work just fine and have incredible detail on the low and high end as well as allow you to grab more of the bottom end and top end character of the sample when you need to do some eq-ing or processing. The advantage is easier mixing, more dynamic range (or 'loudness' - which is critical for today's competitive and 'loud' mixes), less work on the mastering end (If mixed properly) and it will help you identify those sounds in your joint that may not seem to fit in your mix. They'll just stand out as either good or bad. One caution though: You'll have to have a pretty powerful computer preferably with a good amount of RAM and of course, none of this makes any real sense if the monitoring/converter setup is not tight. Very rarely do I have to do much compression or eq-ing on my drums when doing it that way - Reub.

Valued Member: the fact is BPM did it all. they just have to finish the sampler and workflow with the pad controler. u must of not made any beats in BPM. i owned and/or ROCKED all the MPCs and imo BPM is waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy better. u can do sooooo much more with the Fantom built INTO the MPC!

trust me dawg.

ps the sound in maschine is meh....but MOTU? :lol: with AAAALLLLL THOSE UVI CARDS? :twisted:

oh yeah

you just dont read! you read what you want to read then ask THE SAME QUESTION OVER AND OVER till i nail you down like im doing once again! lol im enjoyin this!

3. I was under the assumption that bpm was max 24/96 up untill now but i realised the thing i was reading was mentioned in the "included sound loops" section, my bad.

you do realize that internally a sampler has to be the same specs or higher to play 24/96 bit/khz samples before it dithers down, IF in fact it dithers down at all rite? - like i said above.......you see only what you want to see.

my job is done here. there are no winners or losers here tho because MOTU takin their freakin time with our UPDATE! :evil:

that is not fact, it is opinion... so stfu you idiot. you dont know what a fact is so dont try to respond with one untill you figure what the word means.

and dont talk to me about 32 bit samples ray, your sound card cant even output 32 bit.
