cursor knob

wassup folks...my main knob (i forget the technical term for it) is sort of messed up....it spins but doesn't have that "click" feel to it....i have to pull it up a bit for it to work and make changes. its getting a bit annoying though. Anyone else have or had this issue. Also im looking to refurb my MPC. Any suggestions on the proper steps to do this?

by "my main knob" and the issues described, i can only assume the technical term you're looking for is "penis".

You're talking about the jog wheel. I had the same problem a while back (it sinks into the board and you can't use it to toggle through data) but it can be rectified pretty easily. You're going to need one of these:



You can probably get them from mpcstuff.com or somewhere similar. I'm not very handy with a soldering iron so what I did I just bought the whole PCB board as a spare with the part preinstalled and replaced the whole thing.

The good news it's repairable. Perhaps one of the more technically minded users can help out with the deets. Hope you get it all sorted out.
