Akai IB-208P - will it work in a 2000xl?

Is this board compatible with the mpc 2000xl? in the manual it says it supports the IBM-208P. Just wondered if the 'M' made any difference?

Is the IB-208P (no M) just compatible with the S2000?

Anyone know?

Yes... this question is coming up every week. It does not fit but it will work in the MPC if you do some chopping up of either the board or some plates in the MPC. If you don't have the right tools or skill you could do some serious damage.

The IBM-208P is the Akai board that fits properly, works properly & is pretty easy to install. The German company MUTEC make an MPC output board too.
Get either of these.
