Just edited my wish list to include these two:

15. DRAG N' DROP Tracks TO DAW
Great feature to have for easy exporting; way quicker than just the export function in the file menu.

16. EXPORT AS MIX-DOWN WHILE RUNNING AS A PLUGIN
WHY CAN'T WE DO THIS ALREADY? If you are trying to track your session out to the daw, it'd be way easier to be able to export files as you need them from the Ren in plug-in mode, but currently this is disabled.

Man, aside from potentially more stability 1.1 is disappointing. I know there are plenty of people working hard on this, but PLEASE lets get this thing out of beat already! I know it's on me for being an early adopter, but c'mon AKAI, PLEEEEEASE! I can't really work with the Ren the way it is now.

WE NEED......
-ADD/REMOVE SLICES
-PURGE
-quicker way to scroll my samples (takes too long to scroll through samples when you have 1000 to scroll through) forces me to manually select samples with mouse and slows down my workflow

If simple and obviously useful features continue to get ignored, i might ditch the REn for 2500/jjos

Plug-ins crash and freeze up, I have infinite hd space and ram and still the software lags and crashes so whats the point? the software is still super unstable with 1.1.

honestly 64-bit means nothing to me, but I see like 99 percent of the Ren users want it, (64bit was supposed to be implemented on release btw) I dont even need this feature yet if I see so many people ask for it then why not update it? It's like akai has its own agenda and priorities that do not coincide with what customers want, we want 64bit, add/remove slices, etc... why not add the most needed and wanted features before you give us an update that claims to "fix bugs" but instead adds more bugs then before and include no popular requested features from the actual Ren customers.

Yeah they added RTA with protools and a few other things but that was ALSO supposed to be an out the box feature. Then when you look for the most requested features that people asked for, none of them are put in the update.

1. Get the thing stable so it works with plug-ins and doesnt crash
2. Add all the features it SHOULD of already had
3. Add the features us customers actually want

okay so this probably a really dumb question but i'ma go for it anyways, is there a way to use a samples left/right solo'd i.e. in if i wanted just the left channel to play, as opposed to the right, to have the left play through both speakers?

Convert the stereo sample to mono and pan it as you like. Check manual for steps.

64bit would allow the Ren to use all of your Ram, rather than just less than 4gb. So if your ren is lagging/running out of memory fast, that may be part of the reason. This is why 64 bit is so highly requested. To let people use all of the resources their computer can offer.

#1: variable PPQ
#2: Applying quantization to the playback. Adjusting quantize settings at any time to produce a different-feeling quantization effect. This means that it would not modify the original data
#3: http://www.karma-lab.com/karmasoft/kmo/ ... l#features
#4: Completely new Linux-based OS with Open Source FX plugins which means that the code can potentially be customised by third party developers like JJ

What do you mean by "add/remove slices"?
You can't add marker wherever you want? You have to add markers by threshold, bpm and regions only?

The ability to use shortcut keys/key commands in the software while it in plugin mode.

There's already several things I don't think is ideal that I have to do with a mouse (ie zoom in and out). Taking away key commands is a workflow hinderance.

Edit - While I still want this to happen, using this software in plugin mode (with Pro Tools) is not fun for a handful of other reasons, and this is far down the list of said reasons.

I'll just keep using it standalone.

hi

i would like to know if SNAP TO REGION/transient is coming?

as at the moment its very slow and fiddly trying to select specific parts of a sample quickly and discard the rest in chop mode in 1.1 (theres no discard or delete button in chop mode) wether its a riff or drum loop etc ,

finding transients currently is fine thats bang on happy with that but then discarding the rest in chop mode as of now in 1.1 (unless im missing something) means fiddling around with auto zero which isnt great and then having to manually zoom right in and place markers exactly ...very slow
snap to region is 90% quicker!!

see fl studio's EDISON program for a perfect example of this method:
1-drop in loop in edison
2-click auto slicing
3-scroll and drag to selected range (with auto snap to regions set it will snap to ech region/transient chop)
4-right click and choose trim (aka discard in mpc ren)
thats it for perfect chops/selections of your sample ready to go ...

the best way to implemet this in the mpc ren is
+ADD SNAP TO REGIONS ALONGSIDE SNAP TO ZERO CROSSING
+ALSO ADD DISCARD BUTTON IN CHOP MODE AS ITS NOT THERE IN 1.1

WORKFLOW CHOPPING AND SAMPLE RANGE SELECTION WOULD BE SO MUCH QUICKER LIKE THIS IN MPC REN:

1-LOAD SAMPLE
2-GO TO SAMPLE EDIT -CHOP MODE
3-TURN LINK SLICES OFF
4-AUTO CHOP TO TASTE
5-RANGE AND SELECT PORTION OF SAMPLE WANTED( WHILST SNAPPING TO REGIONS) NOT ZERO CROSSING!!
6-DISCARD UNWANTED ,OR EVEN A DELETE BUTTON IN CHOP MODE WOULD WORK!

HOPE TO SEE THIS ADDED SOON!!!

cheers

I'd like to see a category search function for sound types and search wIndow within the browser to speed up the sound selection process. also say you press 'k' it takes you to any sound with a k at the start- For example
