I've checked other forums and found that this will work on the xl.

www.addonics.com

Don't hold me to it though. It doesn't say what the max Mb/Gb the reader will read/save to memory cards.

"I think anything ide will work in a 2000xl right?"

Not really. Hard drives do not work and I have IDE CF readers that do not work. I suspect the ATAPI compliant devices would work. The internal zips are ATAPI, so that is why they work.

I'd be VERY interested to know if somebody gets this to work.

He says:

" I am upgrading some of my older MPC 2000 XLs with the new drives.  Sorry, but you cannot currently do this yourself.  You will need the new OS (not available for sale or download) for the MPC 2000XL in order to get one of these drives to work:)"

Then how the hell did HE get the new OS????

Good idea.
If they don't have it online by the time the 'new' mpc hits the stores, I'm taking a floppy to my local music store to copy the OS!!!

Does that new thing have SCSI though? Alot of cats will hate it if they got their libraries of months and months and months of work on SCSI hard drives or ZIP and the new one doesn't have SCSI...
then again they probably wouldn't drop another 1400 on another mpc that's the same exact model that they have anyway so never mind!

But he also replied and said there were no new changes to the os except for the drive.

So instead of sharing the love and putting the OS on the 'net, he decides to capitalize on it by selling 'excusive' MPCs... I just hope the first cat to cop one off him puts the software online for us.

yall better start buying the digidrive now coz once the new mpc hits the store, those drives will be expensive as hell
