Not totally sure it's a bug but it sounds like an annoying bug to me.

-Main screen
-4 bars
-rec events
-go to the grid bar field
-copy an entire bar
-paste it to the last bar

=>a 5th bar is created
problem is we have to bring back the bar numbers to 4 and set the LOOP to ON one more time :(

sorry NO confirmation here, in JJOSXL 3.22. I followed your steps and it does not creat a new bar. I would think that it is because you are copying just a little bit more than one bar or you are pasting stuff that is one bar but its not pasted into bar at beginning of last bar so continues over and creates a new bar.
I am using the copy and paste in record mode in grid on main screen. :hmmm:

WTF are you guys doing wrong??? come on, tell me exactly what you are doing. I followed the steps exactly and can not get it to do it at all. So it must be something you guys are doing wrong, as I said in my above post. Please explain to me how i can do it with out making extra bar but you guys can not?? I am not having a go, I am interested to know if we do exactly same thing and get two different outcomes.
And what other bugs typo, give link or example do not just say stuff and not substantiate it.
I did the above steps more than three times and never got an extra bar made like you did so I reckon user error NOT bug. I can do a video to prove it. I read your response TYPO and even rechecked it. I have MPC in front of me now and so such issue.
So again its more like user error, not bug. Also to note that you can select a bar two ways in the main screen grid and you did not specify so I used both methods to select whole bar, still no extra bar. So again reread my post typo. I noticed you like trying to prove me wrong a bit lately, stop taking shit personally dude.

It was confirmed by Murai but I was told it's not sure that this bug will be fixed as it would create another problems or another bugs.

I've been busy recently but if I have some time next week i'll take a video to show you. On my MPC I can recreate it quickly and easily.

Please do that for me le rat that would be great, I can not get that bug to happen. So it would be good to see what you do and i will post a vid of me doing the same. very WTF to see you guys can have bug, but I have no such bug at all. I am suspect at muria's response though, just saying he seems to be just going through the motions so to speak. No disrespect, but I have got responses like that to and it seems stock standard answer.
I have been using main screen edit of sequences all day and not once ever did I ever have this bug happen to me. i mean more than a few times and no bug. I do it both ways to, select by top of bar, and select with scroll wheel, and still no bug.
NOTE> if you double hit the paste then yes it steps to a new bar and if none exists then it makes new bar.I think your problem is maybe too sensitive tact switch, and its double triggering. This is the only way I can recreate your bug, so again i think user error, as that is my problem solving methodology. So will wait for vid with great interest. Plese check you are not double hitting paste!!

there is definitely some weird copy/paste behavior at the selection level. it's like the selection goes one zoom increment too far and that ends up creating a new bar upon paste.

i've worked around it for so long that i'm not thinking about it, but i'll test further in xl and xlcd.

 I did not realize you can do this in the 5 track view till today. Well I do not use it much anyways, but saw that you can edit in tha 5 track view screen. And no, no bug happening for me in this alternative main screen either. weird. Could it be model dependent bug at all? And Nym what do you mean by zoom increment, you mean the selection highlighter yeah?? thats what I think you mean. cool

My bad bliprock, I think you're right, it's not a bug rather "user error" due to that boring LOOP ON/OFF behavior.

My step by step was too rough. In fact my default sequence is 2 bars so I go from 2 to 4 bars. Problem is when I do this LOOP becomes OFF and if you paste something at the last bar when LOOP is OFF a new bar is automatically added. Another boring behavior for me :)

To make a short story long, The step by step was a simple way to describe that "behavior" and I had to face it in a more complex way.

I think I know where my mistake comes from. I reopened an old project. I didn't really remember how it was built. In this project the 4 first bars are 3/4 and there's a graphic bug as you can see on one screen shot. Sadly there have been problems with others time sig. than 4/4 with the grid edit since the beginning.

I'm not sure but I think it can have some consequences on the following bars. On the other screenshot (which was taken after paste at the last bar in order to show more graphic weirdness) you can see that the cursor in the grid is at 37.01.00 but the cursor on the bar field is at bar 36. I think it can lead to mistakes too.

So to sum up the main idea, lots of small workflow issues that made me lost :(

Another boring issue to conclude, if you reduce one bar at bar 37 to make the whole thing 36 bars, it automatically returns to bar 1 after processing. That can be frustrating too.

I was just sharing info typo, and it is very relevant to the above problem. And in no way did I "tell you how to manage your O.S." Maybe you should read my post before you quote it.

Maybe you would prefer to step outside typo? So what is the deal typo ?? what has got ya knickers in a knot? Last few posts I seen you been trying to have a go at me. Are you hatin' cos ya a hater or cos I did something to piss you off? Or is this just a phase your going through?

back on topic hey.

hey lerat, cool to see you got a handle on it. Its good to know what is going on and I do know what it is like when stuff does not make sense or work right.

Sometimes I get annoyed when you try and do a few functions in the sequence list window it always goes back to main screen. Sometimes its good, sometimes it is not if you want to say copy or delete 10 sequences.

SmashedCrab wrote:The fact that you have to turn loop back on after changing the length of a sequence is **** annoying.

Yeah worst spec change ever

Otherwise at this time I'd be happy with an "Auto bar increment YES/NO" in this screen :

It would work with LOOP OFF and audiotracks.
