Can't remember when it changed, but imo it's not good. In MIDI track it works perfectly ie. Steps jump to each step that has been entered to the grid. So why not in DRUM track? In DRUM track it only takes into account the current pad you've got selected and not across pads.

Does any1 like using it the way it is atm?

i still want the way you describe, MTC.
i want both - the ability to jump to next recorded instance of the pad, and the ability to jump to the next/previous recorded note in the sequence, ala MIDI grid edit.
my original request was for what you originally described.
jj interpreted it another, equally useful way.

Yeah, both would be the best solution, so that there'd be more consistency between different track types. If it's a case of "either or" then the current implementation is better as you can quickly fine tune sequential stuff.

I did submit a request to JJ when I first started this thread, but canceled it as I thought that it'd make things worse... maybe some1 with more "authority" (Nym?) could push this addition into the dev queue

ok, this is resolved in 128XL, before i even mentioned anything
i'll ask that the behavior that is currently in 128XL get ported to XL for those using that system.

the way it works now is the ideal:
in DRUM grid, when you hit shift and < or >, the cursor/selection moves to the time/pad position of the next recorded note. the way it does in MIDI grid.
