stream file on mpc500?

i read somewhere akai mpc500 can stream long samples from cf card... is this true?

You mean like checking out each sample before placing them on a pad? Yes, it can do that with any size sample. Must be within the range of the available RAM though. Standard, the 500 comes with 16MB of RAM so thats like 3-4 minutes of sample time, but with a 128MB RAM chip, you'll get close to 20 minutes of sample time. But that all depends on your sample choices because stereo samples will cut those times in half.

no i was thinking in case u can stream files from CF in order not to use ram and have more long files...

Yes, you can stream the cf card on your computer.

Google MPC-Maid, they have an app for the 500 that will help with sample files and programs as well as sequences. Gets thing done fast than the 500 itself.

i was not talking about preview, i was talking about streaming long files in program in mpc500...

Then no. Afaik Octatrack is the only one that does long-ass samples straight off of CF. Also check out Roland's SP-series (but i doubt it does that either).

mate you made my day!! it seems all roland sp have stream disk!! so even the small sp404

Yep they have it. Indeed exception done for the small internal RAM (which is also flash-like, BTW) all of your samples stream from the CF card in SP series.
