i would like to know if SNAP TO REGION/transient is coming?

as at the moment its very slow and fiddly trying to select specific parts of a sample quickly and discard the rest in chop mode in 1.1 (theres no discard or delete button in chop mode) wether its a riff or drum loop etc ,

6-DISCARD UNWANTED ,OR EVEN A DELETE BUTTON IN CHOP MODE WOULD WORK!

HOPE TO SEE THIS ADDED SOON!!!

cheers

in the following video, the user is using v1.1 as evidence by the playhead marker in sample edit. at 3:05 into the vid, he uses DISCARD

i have a great one, in maschine when i used to auto-chop a sample after the sample was converted to the pads, i was still able to edit the chop slices where i wanted them to be. so if the slice was too long, i could still edit the slice, if it was too short i could slice the segment of the sample shorter.

hi mate :)
yea hes using that in TRIM mode there is no discard button in CHOP mode that would make things a hell of a lot faster/easier in chop mode with SNAP TO REGION function also!

I've given the Ren the benefit of the doubt and decided to keep it. Mistake? maybe...I went over to my friends today to show him how to use maschine which i know quite well also and it was like night and day, being how many features machine has compared to the ren. Maschine even has a time marker which goes through the hardware itself. on top of that the chopping features are nicer (it shows the bpm reading when in slice mode, you are able to edit the chops after they are chopped, when you undo a chop the sample fragments don't stick around, you can delete multiple samples easier) there's another thing that's been addressed already about not being able to select multiple samples in the right program browser to delete, instead if you mess up on a chop, you have to delete the parts over and over.
I don't even know how AKAI is about to pull off selling these for example, the Ren is a this time a nice soundcard with a bunch of knobs. the studio looks like it might have a problem because of the fact that the software in it, and the Ren, is lacking so many features and is NOT in the slightest bit stable. here's a feature, at least when maschine crashed you where able to open up your work and start from where you last saved. this program doesn't even remember where you last saved to in your directory, nor the export option. I really hope AKAI gets their stuff together because right now it doesn't seem too promising.

hi i would like to add some feature suggestions for the renaissance next updates can you tell me if any of these are going to be implemented?
thanks!!

1-is plug in (akai and vst) saving/loading presets coming?

2-snap to region in chop mode? and a discard button in chop mode for much improved chopping workflow after auto detection!

3-lfo delay or fade in (crucial for bass music!!)i can see theres a space for it too next to the sync drop down button!see ni's kontakt for example.

4-looping options (forward/reverse/alternate)-like the mpc 4000

5-window zoom presets/default setups for quicker editing and less constant zooming in/out.-see cubase as very good example

6-plug in bypass button per plug in.

7-envelope/lfo presets

8-multiple file load from browser instead of one at a time-like the drag n drop from desktop

9-not stopping of sequencer whilst loading a sample from the browser

10-blue enter button on numeric keypad to act as also the "do it"button on hardware for quick workflow

11-plugin/effect automation

12-saveable swing setup templates/presets

13-auto preview volume fader

14-playing in context preview from browser(ie-140 tempo master previews samples at 140)

thank you!

To help users with connecting keyboards and knowing the keyboard is connected correctly.. Ableton live had this.. I was shocked to see it didn't have it

even the mpc 2000xl has a MIDI input monitor, to see what channels midi is currently coming in on.

In the upper right of the Ren's LCD there is a track status field. When you strike a pad or a connecting keyboard, the indicator should change. Is this not happening?

I don't know if my requests have already been listed in here because it's too long for me to read everything, though I'm sure most of this has already been requested.

1) Different plugin handling, don't duplicate plugins when you copy a sequence.

2) FX plugin automation.

3) Step sequence automation. Similar to the Korg MS2000 style of modulation sequencing. Allowing you to input values for any automateable parameter at any note in the sequence.

4) Allow assigning the browser preview to any audio channel output not just the main or default one like it is currently. Also would like to be able to control the browser preview volume.

5) Browser sample categories, kick, snare, clap, etc.... There is no organization of sounds by type unless you actually have them in separate folders already (which I guess I can do but it would be nice to be able to tag files instead)

.... I'm sure I'll think of more but those came up right away after last nights session.

Anyway, I'm having a great time with the Renaissance and I'm excited to see how it grows over time :)

yeah this happens for me, i just miss monitoring the individual channels. In regards to anton's suggestion, that indicator should show key presses.
