NEWBIE XL User..Help me Please..Maybe a simple question..

I have recently purchased an mpc 2000xl & I have used one before so I know my way around it somewhat (enough to start constructing beats) anyw..the one problem I have never been able to figure out is when I load in certain sounds (I like to load in lots at a time) I always have to go in , ONE BY ONE & turn the damn loop function off..?? can someone..ANYONE PLEASE tell me why it loads everything in as a constant loop?? I mean I have to turn each one off individually all the time, ist such a major hassle..?? I've just missed something right..?? this isnt like this right???

An MPC will load a sample in the exact state that it was saved. So if it was saved in a looped state, that's the way it will load. If your is loading unlooped beats as looped, then you have a very , er, unique MPC!

maybe i do.. BUT

I am loading in from 2 sample CDs I have purchased ..I dont know if they were made "looped"..BUT is there ANY way of turning that off..??

well..i guess not..by the looks of ya answer..'sigh'.... back to the grind then..

if you sample from a different source then assign the sound to the pad does it play looped?

Perhaps you have a blank program file loaded that all pads are set to loop ??

If you are loading from a sample CD of loops then it is quite likely that all the samples are set to loop
