i just got done watching this and i gotta say this is a real bangin movie about recording and engineering. This cat was a pinoner of recording and we owe alot of what we take for granted to this dude. He was the first to make 8 track recording a standard, and to intergrate tape recording into the industry. I thought this movie was really good though. hes worked with all kinds of groups and has made them who they were. He funtioned as a producer for alot of classic records. Cream, Skynard, Osmand bros, aretha, Otis redding, booker t and the mgs, shit all kinds of bands. Tight shiznt

i saw this in class, my dude was big in the industry...too bad he didn't get publishing and writing credits for a lot of that stuff...

yeah. he metioned that in the film but he said he was happy just to work with these people and make the connects and freindships he had.

that shit was a trip....all those gold and platinum records on the wall at his studio and he's driving a busted looking saturn and lives in a real modest apartment. On the real though, that guy was a f|_|ckin genius. He was workin on the atomic bomb and he like less than 20 yrs old or something like that.

very inspirational, i saw it on sundance a couple of times.

yeah i thought it was real good. On another note i saw BADDDAASSSSS a few nights ago and that movie was pretty tight. it was all bout melvin van peables makin "Sweet Sweetbacks Bad Ass Song" which was the first film that portrayed a black as a hero instead of a butler or housekeeper. Sweetback was one bad **** that fought crooked cops and got away. Movies before this were clowing blacks and other minorites. It was a very reveloutionary movie and changed the whole motion picture industry. It also opened alot of doors for independent films. He started losin it while he was makin it due to all the pressures of this movie, but he stayed to his vision and made a movie that inspired many people. Also its soundtrack is still sampled all the time and laucnhed the careers of earth wind and fire. Madlib i think used come on feet recently. It was diretected and acted by Mario Van Peables who is melvins son. BADDASSS

BADDDAASSSSS was a dope flick. Sweetback really ushered in the blaxploitation movies. Without that movie you wouldn't have had Shaft, Dolemite.....

I thouhgt that was funny as hell though.......Peebles couldn't get funding for the movie back in the day from the studios....Bill Cosby ended up givin' him the money!!

They even stole the film and borrowed the equipment used to make it!

Come on Feet was basically a remix of the song in badass, but a very good remix/cover.
