best headphones for production???????

suggestions on the best headphones for production??????? i had the sony mdr 7506 but the no longer work.

I got mdr v700 they are good, but, my boy got the 900's and they think they are the best I've ever heard.

I use the Sony mdr v700's

Use the sennheiser HD 25's.
They are considered to be the industry standard, or the EV series from sennheiser.
From experience these have been the standouts.

ditto but i use them for djing mainly. i also give them to people to record to hear the beat when they are performing.

I dont make beats with them cause ur mix comes off wrong, but i got my own crib and an old deaf lady sharing the other side, so i can pump shit at 4 am through my monitors. most cats dont have this and need headphones so i feel u. But anyways the sonys are nice. Akg i heard makes good phones but i cant cosign. And i think pinoeer has a decent line.

i'm looking for something i can bagn loud, but won't lie to me too much interms of an accurate sound. doesn't have to be perfect as in headphones for mixing, etc.

Sony MDR v900's are real nice but they'll set u back about $175.00

What this guy says. From what I've heard, this is your best bet, or one of them. I guess these are like studio reference monitors for your ears. The sony's you guys speak of are more for djing/mixing (I think).

Yup, the Sony's are really better suited to DJ'ing and mixing. They're a great general purpose choice if you don't care about critical accuracy. Very comfortable for long sessions too. For making a beat/composing and arranging they're real nice. I wouldn't final mixdown my tracks on any headphones... In my opinion you have to hear and feel that mix bumping. Hope this helps.

I got the akg k240 studios. They're a little bit lacking on the bass but the sound is **** crystal clear. I usully mixdown using the phones, but I normally find the mix to sound very good on home stereo systems, kind of nicely muffled.

AKGs are also really comfortable, especially the new k271s.

i have a pair of numark PHX headphones. excellent value for money.

they simply dont distort. put it this way. i chuck on any song with bass. and turn up my pioneer VSA 1000 amp half way (we're going through a lot of power). i can feel my head vibrate when i do this.

i´m using beyerdynamic DT 880, amazing!
