Hello,

i need a new Dataentry encoder for my brandnew MPC1k.
That new one really sucks, feels completly different than the one in my old ( black) 1K.

the old one is running VERY smooth and has a nice clicking.
The new one is just from another world ( ........call it maybe numark , hehe )
i need to get same feel on both machines.
anybody know if the one from MPCstuff is the real deal for me ?
http://www.mpcstuff.com/mpc-1000-jog-wh ... t-enc.html

but now, why i post,
does anybody knows a Brand and partname or has directly a link to a source in europe, Reichelt, Farnell,
( mouser would work maybe too as i have to get there something )

while i´m on it:
the volume pot is also very unsmooth, need to change that one too.
same questions:
MPCstuff has a smooth one ? any sources in europe ( farnell, reichelt, maybe mouser )

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=143117

this thread might shed some light on it..theres a few options in there but i dont think any are the exact one

update:
would need to confirm shaft length and specs but it looks like this is the guy now as the other parts above are obsolete

ahhh, cool !
this is very good Infos.
still not all clear, ...have to take both MPCs apart bevore i order.
hopefully this will clear up then open questions.

UnoW, the OP on that other Thread mentioned that he didn´t liked the ra-ta-ta-ta...
my new MPC 1K hasn´t that ratatata either, my old one has.
I like the ra-ta-ta-ta, .....need it, hehe.
i´l post when i know more or got me some Part(s),

much thanks !

is your new mpc actually new as in never used - or new as in youve just picked up a used one.. cos i think the ra-ta-ta you speak of actually comes from wearing it in a bit.

apparently the akai encoder - and the one you get from MPCstuff - has changed along the way ( apparently for the better). if yhou have a look at the right PCB on mpc stuff it has a bit of a description about the change.

alps parts are good though - i think the orginal akai one is a mitsumi or something

the same thing has happened on my 2500 - different encoder though - ive just put a new one on on it is way quieter and smoother than my old one (although that is how i like it).

you should maybe give it some time to wear it in if you actually want it to feel more clunky

also for the pots - check out the service manual - in the manual menu at the top of the page here

The unit is a unused one, they run cheap these days, wanted the new padsensors allready in.

Now, the verymain problem is solved: the encoder has had double resolution. i had to set encoder to 2 while my other MPC has it set to one.
Man was it fun to enter the JJ password with the wrong setting i had
You´re right, i guess the Encoder feels allready a bit smoother

I´ll see how the Encoder is doing.
could be that it became allready a bit smoother.
From what i read yesterday i guess the encoder from MPC stuff will be the same as i allready have.
That was finally one of my questions.

Have to get anyway a new LCD to do the mod that was planned for later as the LCD is also different. not to its best.
Unclear letters/graphic in comparison to my other 1K.
MUCH Less angle to see ( brightness is adjusted)

much thanks
