and the linndrum 2 just has me curious because I wonder what he will incorporate into the design.

Yeah it's definitely easier for a small company to come up with something new, especially with stuff like kick starter in the mix. Interested as well in what the ld2 might bring. Nukai are Idiots for burning that bridge.

well, I dont think they are interested in innovating... they are into spending bucks in marketing, keeping manufacturing costs low, and repackaging/reusing old R&D (especially from companies they acquired) ... what innovations have alesis come up with since it was acquired by numark?

then they did it again with jj.

god damn that guy has taken those machines in such incredible directions, forward thinking, innovative stuff. it is amazing and refreshing to see a single guy be able to do so much.

imagine what would happen if he had big $ behind him to create legitimate hardware to run that stuff...

They seemed to keep in good sprints with forat, considering the Ren had a lot of his advice about the layout. Also its funny they blew off roger linn, and now are making the Ren which is marketed at all the linn MPC lovers out there using all the "3000" bullshit. I would think only good things would arise from having a relationship with him. It just seems like common sense, except for obliterating his royalty checks. Which he **** deserves considering the MPC looks and acts exactly the same. Agh this is turning into a rant lol.

Seems like Nukai wants to make sure, no one innovates anything.

I see your point Konc3pt but I think this entire new line was more driven by customer / working well known producer's input. Had the 3000 thing not been requested they probably wouldnt have implemented it. but then again who knows.

They needed a selling point for their Music Production Controller and it was to try and mimic the 60's and 3000`s sound and look. They tried to polish their turd with the foundation that RL laid, but still can't touch the OG machines.

All they want to do is make specific instruments for specific genres for people with a specific mindset. And yeah, heavily market it as an amazing game changing product. :|

you're right its pure speculation at this point..although from what I recall it was youtube inspired producers who would come in here and ask how to get that 3k/60 sound....o g's dont trip on it or got the real thing to emulate it..that's just my observation tho..

on the other hand roger need to get a grip and come out with real mpc clone

Word... Interesting thought. now that would be dope. But he refers to the MPC way of making music as the way people made music 20 years ago. I dont think he'll be cloning that anytime soon. But it would be dope.
