i;ve had one for a year now, coming from a 2000xl as well.....
I do like the sound better on the mpc3000, especially drums.
The built-in Delay effect is actually pretty useful too, unlike the EB16's delay....
Not sure if the sequencer's resolution is the same as the XL, but it definitely feels way better to
sequence without the quantization....
The workflow's different, chopping's different....
As I engage with the 3000 more, it gives me back more, & we got some serious mojo happening.....
I wouldn't say its better, but that its a different thing...
Get it. Its the only way to find out if its right for you

melodicomike1 wrote:Hi,

I actually work with MPC 2KXL, but recently, i realised that the sound of the 2000XL sampler was really insipid to me.
So, as a lot of people told me to get a S950, i found it: yeah it sounds fat, old school, a little dirty, BUT: I tried a MPC 3000 and i was like a kid in front of it, i really love the sound, deep, clear and mellow: As i sample principaly Vocal samples and strings, piano ... the sound is more crunchy and i like it.
So i want to move to this MPC(3K), but, as it's really expensive, some people told me to get a S3000 but i love the MPC3000 and i'd like to have it.

What do you think of the MPC 3000? Is it really useless to buy it? Is it totally similar to get the sampler only (S3000) with 2KXL sequencer for example?

Thanks!!!

buddy check this out these people on here are in love for the 3k .. just for the name ...as i stated on other post ... it is a ""digital recorder"" what makes the 3k so great is when your sending your tracks OUT .. their a lil more phat .. then the other mpc's . and the 3k filters are great also ... .. stay with the 2000 the interface is more user friendly .. the 3k . is alot of patience and if you have that ... then get it ... look at jdepina using a beat up 2000 .. lol.. his beats sound sooo gritty .... it all depends what yourecord in .. remeber that .... 3k has great converters , and filters ... and looks sexxy .. tell one of these 3000 users to make a you tube video lol.. they wont .. it takes to dayum long lol.. the 3000 youtube videos are very scarce .. thiers not many out thier lol....im from CPT we know about 3000's :)
